A Message from Bill Cosby - Pass it on

Bill Cosby "I'm 83 and Tired"

I've worked hard since I was 17. Except for when I was doing my National Service, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly 40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as though retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; Muslims burning schools for girls; Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques and Madrasa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia , New Zealand , UK, America and Canada , while no one from these countries are allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other Arab country to teach love and tolerance..

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses or stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off?
I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.
I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.
I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens and early 20's be-deck themselves in tattoos and face studs, thereby making themselves unemployable and claiming money from the Government.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 83.. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter and their children. Thank God I'm on the way out and not on the way in. There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference.

"I'm 83 and I'm tired. If you don't agree you are part of the problem!

Because that's the only reason why people need money, because they "too lazy or sorry"?

And I was not talking just about that, I was talking about all of the things he says.

I agree although giving to those less fortunate is its own reward. Welfare is evil not because its free aid but because for every dollar taken from us only 5 cents goes to the welfare recipients.$200 a month in food stamps and 215 a month in cash is not help its an insult and  ploy to become dependent. As for drug addiction maybe we would have less of that if our government wasn't involved in shipping it in.

ArMaP, We agree.  I have applied to, now, WELL over 50,000 jobs since I was laid off.  In person, and largely on the web.  I keep plugging, trying to become employed.  I don't need help because I am "lazy."  I don't need help because I am "sorry."  I need help because employers do not hire old ladies when They have fifty 20- and 30-somethings to choose from.

I am so saddened to see Cosby so callous about the vast unemployment, the People who, for the most part, would leap at any job offered.  When We see lines of People, blocks long, camping for days to get a chance to be hired at companies who announce Their intent to begin hiring on some specific day...

We can't just say, "Oh, They're lazy.  Let Them die."

Ama, you and armap are missing part of it; people like you and I that want to work and try our best are not what is meant; for each one wanting to work there are several that are milking the system because they can; I see it every day, have for years... and Islam? Those that follow radical paths sow dissent and chaos for all the rest...

You have missed the point entirely. He is not referring to normal unemployed people that have a desire to work.  Just come over to our welfare office and sit outside for a few hours.  See the people driving up in Humvees and Cadilacs that own houses.

It seems the English language isn't enough to convey thoughts these days.  He is referring to those deliberately abusing the system.  And those type brag about it while an honest citizen, one who doesn't lie about their circumstances gets the shaft.

A while back after I stopped working and my wife lost her job, we did try to apply for those food stamps.  It was supposed to be a system that  gave people who needed temporary help a little break.  We own a house  yes... I have enough in the bank to cover bills on a month to month basis  mostly.

Well they told us because we had over 2000.00 in the bank on the day my wife applied we were sh!t out of luck. Never mind the fact that we hadn't paid the bills that month yet

Then you go over to the grocery store and see these people in their fancy cars with piles of groceries from the food stamps.  How do they do it? Simple... they lie... and have people at home that support the lie.

Its easy  all you need is a few people in the same household under different names sharing.

When illegals can get such help and illegals can get free medical, there is a problem in this country

And wait till ya hear what happened to my daughter with schooling

He is not talking about the average joe down on his luck and out of work... he is talking about those that are deliberately using any means possible to milk and defraud the system, at the expense of the rest of us.  I would suggest re reading what he wrote and take the blinders off

The ones that abuse the system are the reason the rest of us are struggling

I don't care who said it or who wrote it. I pretty much agree with the thought and intent of every "I am tired of" statement said!

With nearly 50% of the nation's population on welfare and food stamps, it is a "damnation of intent"  of the people in that situation, and a damnation of the government, not a damnation of the people who are working and making a living, for themselves, and for their families.

Except for the physically handicapped, anyone who is receiving support from the governments should have to get up, get out, and work at doing something productive, even if that means sweeping the streets, doing various work for cities and states, garbage pick-up, and etc.

Yes, some of that type of "work" would cause some people to get busy and find a real job, instead of just sending out resumes on the internet, and collecting their govt. check.

Right now this country in on the road to "hell in a hand-basket", with the politics and spending direction of our government. And yes, the muslims will take this country down completely, if we just sit by and let them, as we seem to be doing!

if it costed twenty dollars a day to go to work and you only make thirty .then its not worth going to work.thats why mostly low iq people have real jobs right now.if they sat down and looked at the true cost of living they would quit their jobs too.only the rich and a few upper management are truly making a living these days.why should i help a millionaire get richer while i wonder how to keep the bills paid.
a living wage is now twenty dollars an hour.wheres those twenty dollar an hour jobs.       all i hear is silence   .then the millionaire says i need more immigrants.
i already saw reality but sometimes not everybody sees it at the same time .

basically our country has wrote off anybody over 35.
most of us are crippled anyway from our jobs.twenty small strains on a back over a lifetime can equal a cripple and thats why we have so many people on disability.
if i cant get a job then fine.ill go on disabilty and this why were where we are now.

I disagree, Armap; I have been working since I was 11 years old, and I agree with Bill Cosby 100%; don't take away from my calloused and sweaty hands to give to someone too lazy or sorry to try to do for themselves...

Being a slave doesn't make you morally superior to anyone, I'm sorry.  The entire reason why the slave views himself as being better than those who are not like him, is because a perception of moral superiority, in many cases, is literally all he has.

Bill might be tired; but I'm becoming equally tired of the insistence that there is a correlation between misery and virtue.  I'm tired of people continually trying to claim that they are better than me purely because they are older, and they've spent most of their lives doing work that they have hated.

Being older doesn't make you superior.  It just makes you more likely to die sooner than me; and your knowledge of that fact is the entire reason why older people need to try and make that claim in the first place.

You having suffered and potentially experienced more pain in your life, on its' own, does not make you inherently superior to me either.  It likely means that in fact, you envy me, which again, is why you need to create the illusion of superiority, in order to console yourself.  My father's life has fairly consistently been one of misery, and he always used to deride me for being, "self indulgent," when I knew full well that envy was his only motivation for doing so.

I will even allow myself to feel some genuine outrage in my own turn, here.  How dare you attempt to claim moral superiority over me, (and I'm talking, here, to a couple of people on this forum, without needing to name names; they know who they are) when you do not take responsibility for your own situation?  I do not spent 16-18 hours a day working in a job I hate, because I have consciously made the decision that I will accept death in preference to doing so.  I do not consider a life spent in such a manner, to be a life worth living.  If you do, then you are entirely welcome to it, but let us dispense with this need on your part, to psychologically compensate for your choice, by claiming that it has any greater inherent moral worth than others.

At least have the basic integrity to view it for what it is; a choice.  You are not, in fact, compelled to be in that situation to the degree which so many claim; people voluntarily take on expenses such as mobile phones and cars (which contrary to puerile claims, they do not literally need to physically survive) and then claim that they have "no choice," but to submit to slavery in order to economically maintain these things.  Barring quarterly utilities, I am currently living on $250 AUD (roughly the same US) per week, and I am doing so very comfortably.  I am also debt free.  I have no car, no mobile phone, and none of Apple's handheld rubbish.

The truth of the matter also, is that I do not condone "independence," as a moral virtue.  I don't condone necessarily being carried by fascist institutions, but if there is one thing which Americans in particular need to learn, it is to place greater value on their fellow human beings.  Most of you do not understand the fact that the very people who indoctrinated you with the "independence," meme, are those who want to own you; and contrary to what they try and tell you, they are not "independent."  They get together in organisations such as the Bilderberg Group all the time, and collectively decide what they are going to do.  They collaborate; they don't want you to believe that that is a good idea, however, because they want to keep you powerless.

So do not sing hymns either to your advancing necrosis, or to the fact that your imminent descent into the grave will follow a life in which, due purely to your own gullibility, you have chosen to emulate an agricultural draught animal, and expect me to be impressed.

I find it surprising that people do not avail themselves of selling online via ebay etsy etc.

My sister, not to computer savy :P, had an income problem. She is looking after our mother in her home in a basement apartment. Her husband the single wage earner in the household has a decent union job in waste water treatment. Well he got ill... funds ran out and they were in trouble.

I suggested she sell stuff on Ebay... (my mother was a long time flea market seller in her day and they had stuff)  She hmmm'ed and haaa'ed  said she was crappy on the comp.  Finally her son said "Hey mom. I can set that up real easy.

So within a few month she found enough money to cover the bills with enough left over to take a 2 week vacation to Costa Rica for a family of 4 and pay for a nurse to watch mom.

How? She listed stuff they had and no longer needed, then went to yard sales, church sales and thrift stores picking up deals. In Toronto it gets cold, fur coats real or fake are in high demand.  She now focuses on those  picks them up for 50.00 or less, resells them for $250.00 or higher and routinely sells out

I have posted these solutions in the money section. I have actively been setting up my shop to do just that. I look at yard sales every weekend and find stuff selling for $1.00  Now things are picking up and I am finally getting a return. I have no choice... there are no jobs around here either. My wife has been looking for over a year even for part time... even got bumped out of a christmas temp job she had.

So back to scrounging scrap and buying at yard sales for me.

But ya know what? Its FUN and after a while and some initial hard work, it starts to pay off.  At the end of December we were down to the last penny literally... now its February and we are staying afloat with light at the end of the pier.

So stop being LAZY :P take 10 bucks and go to a yard sale, post it on Ebay or Etsy and get 50.00 back. Don't have 10 bucks, well shelve your pride and do the rounds on trash day. You would be amazed at what people toss away. A little clean and repair, in some cases no more than a dusting off  and you resell it at a yard sale.

You want tips, write me or follow my posts and check the shop. You would not believe what you can get for stuff. Just takes a little time... but then time is what you have a lot of when your broke and stuck at home.

None of us want to be debt slaves. There are people that do need help.

But !!!!!!!!        The people that take advantage of the situation tick me off >:( >:( >:( >:(

There is a couple down the road from me that just built a 200k or more house both have jobs and 4 or 5 cars in the drive. All newer than the car I drive and I have been behind them at the market more than once. At least 2 carts full with steaks ect that I cant buy.

THEY PAY FOR IT WITH THAT CARD!!!!!!!!!!

My wife asked her how she did it and the woman tried to tell her how to scam the government.

I told my wife it is not going to happen.we are not going to do that.

I am so sorry that some dont see it that way.

Petrus, I do not know where you have your head at, and really don't care; how you draw the conclusion that I am stating that I am morally superior or virtuos is beyond me;

plainly put, I work; 99.9% of the time at jobs that I chose and happen to enjoy, have had several businesses of my own that did allright and served me well at the time without taking advantage of anyone, taking from anyone, or using anyone for my gain at their loss;

I started to ignore your post, but no, there is a difference between the likes of you and myself; I have never been on welfare, disability, received food stamps or any type of aid from anyone; Have also bought food, clothing, and helped financially when I could those that I could...

so what have you accomplished in life other than posting empty words proclaiming your superiority?

"I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is called a disgrace, two men are called a law firm, and three or more become a Congress"

I happen to agree with Bill Cosby, or whoever wrote this.

Hard work is the cure for much of what ails mankind.

Don't fear the Muslims.  To paraphrase Ray Leguizamo, it's them today, it was someone else yesterday, and it will be someone else tomorrow.  Islam is just the current bogeyman of the hour.  During WW2 it was the Nazis.  Then in the 50s it was the Communists.  After Islam, it'll probably be ET or asteroids. ;)

The world was here before Islam, and it will be here after it.

currently they are being given carte blanche by european governments to over reproduce in those european nations. this same thing is happening with catholic hispanics in the usa, originally from south and central america.

so my guess is islam and catholicism are in cahoots with each other and world governments, to bring down the western world and its form of government AND white people (oddly enough they seem to want to suggest if you are of central or northern european ancestory, you're inherently evil. how they came to that conclusion i dunno), which was fine about 100 years ago, give or take a few totally stupid racial laws.  this is good news for atheists, however, because the jesuits are atheists who only serve the worldly role of protecting the political and financial power of the vatican.

in effect, the only groups that will be negatively effected by all this first onslaught are protestant or non-catholic christians,  and most of the caucasian race.

it serves as no relief for me that faramir was willing to forfeit his own life for the hobbits, since they were all essentially saved by gandalf anyway, and gandalf is tolkien's version of the pope. lol fat lot  of good that would do for most of protestanism.

the jews (white or not) will be fine, however.   islam believes the world will only end, once they fight the christians and  jews and win.  that ain't gonna happen (the winning against the jews, i mean).  the catholics that are white, are gonna buy the farm, once the protestants get whacked.  they don't know that though cause they don't read prophecy, and even if prophecy isn't really a vision from god, the elites appear to be using it for a play book so yeah. what does it say?

the beast of rome will hate the whore, which is the religion of rome, and burn her with fire.   probably will be the jesuits who orchestrate it, cause it's unlikely any other group would be powerful enough to do so and they fit al the criteria: political and financial power brokers of the world, presumably in league with babylonian talmudians, who are also primarily atheists who exercise power by using religous writs to substantiate their right to political and financial gains, whilst simultaneously not believing a word of it, such as the idea of using torah to prove their inheritance of the land of israel,  and then telling everyone the torah is nonsense.  a real juggling act to be sure.

Ama, you and armap are missing part of it; people like you and I that want to work and try our best are not what is meant; for each one wanting to work there are several that are milking the system because they can; I see it every day, have for years... and Islam? Those that follow radical paths sow dissent and chaos for all the rest...

And I suspect it is the other way around.  I think that for every One who isn't doing the best They can there are at least a hundred who ARE.  I have been on services a long while now, AND lived in a couple of shelters along the way.  Except for the Ones who are mentally out there (and who need help), I have rarely found One who is NOT desperate to make things better in Their lives.

Yes, some take advantage.  Most are doing what They can, with "help" that barely makes a dent.

Lawyers....well you know what they say....

"I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is called a disgrace, two men are called a law firm, and three or more become a Congress"

-- John Adams, in the play "1776"

I happen to agree with Bill Cosby, or whoever wrote this.

Hard work is the cure for much of what ails mankind.

If everyone had to work their asses off, they would hardly have time
to do much else aside from eat and sleep.

But eh, we live in the days of free cell phones, free contraceptives.

I think Billy Gates should plow a field.  Hard work.  Yeah.  Cure and all...  I think the CURE is to get rid of the war profiteers (right THERE, enough money to support ALL of Us richly).  To allow Us to spend Our time enjoying what We are doing towards betterment - art, science, research, invention.  Slave labor to enrich the likes of Billy G...  That's no "cure."  That adds to the sickness.
