How good was top gear last night?
Best tv programme ever.
Maybe?
Although due to my Brilliant hour's of work I miss all TV :D
Apart from the the most Awesome MotoGP race on Sat night at Assen ofc :P
I watched this interview with Richard Hammond not so long ago which is quite interesting where he details his Coma after the crash he had!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b-WaO3bZs4
I am not going to watch that again, but If I recall correctly he mention's how he can recall Number's like a Calculator after the accident ?
Must Admit I have only watched a few episodes of Top Gear and enjoyed them, especially Jame's May in the U2!
I want an Ariel Atom though after watching another episode ;D
Whilst I love motorcars & motorcycles I cannot watch top gear any more.
It just grates me. lets face it there all most likely to be on back handers to say
great things about cars we will probably never afford to own in our life.
I do like the James may series though (that was not a top gear episode soma the u2)
Elvis? anyone? do me a favor, reply as i'm building up a stack of thread kills in general topics :-[
it's doing me head in. !
No not schooling anyone soma LOL But i refuse to add yet another threadkill LOL
hope you read this pal. James May is great. I like his TV stuff and that U2 flight was ACE.
That is a dream flight.so lucky.
Ahh thanks Stealthy! Still love that old tech U2 though now you schooled me ;D
My former housemate got the jame's may toy series and we watched it one night... Loved it as it showed inspiration!
Stealthy you are by far the threadkill without knowing it... I thought I had that un-assuming effect here :(
I have foot in mouth disease :(
I guess,

Er well i'm a mechanical engineer by trade (anything with an engine) and I freaking LOVE sarcasm
humor for the weak of mind ::) see what i did there Elvis ;D I used to like it but not so much now.
There running out of ideas. I did enjoy the space shuttle reliant robin & was gutted when it failed.
THAT would be a good one to re visit and try again. and i do like PORSCHE's 911 GT3rs, any 911.
I love engineering 8)
SOMA HRC have the cash to do anything!!! poor old DUCATI not there year
I dearly would love to see Ducati to do well... HRC are the Borg :D
As an Aussie I would love to see Scott Redding and Cal kicking arse on a Ducati! :)
An aside though is how much harmonic's and what have you go into designing these engines!

I think Barry Sheene would be smiling in motor land heaven if it actually existed :D
Watching Cal this year is hurting my mr's ear drums! He need's a factory bike !
I think I managed to bore everyone with my two wheeled fanaticism.... :P
whilst I like to see advancement in engineering I still prefer the days of Randy mamola the wheely king bendin them 2 stroke pipes on the V4 absolute maniac machines and kev swantz! them were the days where the gyroscopic force coursed by the V4 setup made the bikes an absolute handful to ride,
ducati led the way for the 4 stroke revolution.
I had an RD 350 ypvs yam and I had a squirt on the RD 500 and there crazy.power band tastic.
SOMA I could talk bike all day and it look's like we have a great rookie in 'ol Elvis ;)
Got a 600 yam fazer at the moment but I have chance of a Honda CBR600 all tricked out and geared for the track, really cheap 2000 plate £1000 and it's a freaking rocket! but alas I don't have the cash things have been real tuff of late I need some luck.
The price of racing a factory is what holds the young lads back. so much money.

Ah ha, Stealthy old chap,
you would be waay off with that assumption.
Ive had motorcycles since i was 10 years old in all shapes and sizes.
I had an RD 250 (aircooled), Then a 350LC (pre YPVS)
So your talking to an old hand here ;)
In fact my best mate used to stay at barry sheens house in australia when ever he visited.
Barry had an RG in his living room.
Bikes are in my blood as they are in yours. :)
Barry sheen legend lucky no7. That's a cool story.the old gamma eh 500? of course ;)
sos Elvis me old pal I meant it in the nicest possible way ;)
should of thought that one out a lil more my rookie mistake hehe.
Did not mean it sound like that. more like PEGASUS's latest great addition
ahh the RD range castrol R, 2 stroke wheelie popping madness.
Most crazy bike i owned was a 1989 Honda CR 500 super moto
That was the most scary yet thrilling machine I ever rode.
I would shake so bad from the adrenaline from holding on. jesus it was insane.
Not very practical you may as well of poured fuel on the floor it used it up so quick.
I also have a cousin who had center spread in one of the major bike mags
with his Kawazki KX 500 super moto show stopper of a bike geared to do 140mph ;)
I will see if i can hunt down a pic.
our official bike thread lads :)
Ha Ha excellent mate.
The big CR was a monster no doubt.
The best i can do on crossers was a KTM 250, I loved that bike...
My last one was a 1200 bandit with a full yosh system, ducati monster bars and rear sets. I could keep that bugger up till about 120, the front made a really satisfying screech when it hit the ground....
God youve just reimded me of castrol r.
great stuff mate. :)

That sounds like a wicked looking machine Elvis the tricked out bandit, is that one of the most
bullet proof engines ever built or what. as for the KTM 250 not really much in it for shear power
crosser's are just crazy so 250=500 both very quick.
Speaking of KTM I was chatting to a guy the other day who was sat on a KTM 1000
He'd had her on the dyno (another pal of mine) and they managed to squeeze another 10BHP
out of her with a little re mapping he said it was much smoother it was awesome i was jealous.

You know what, the very same happened to a friend of mine, when we went to pick up his new bike.
It was a brand new CBR400 RR and it was really smart.
He did the paperwork and they rolled it out. He was in new leathers and lid, the lot. I was with him on my ZZR 600.
So we fire them up and some lasses walk by. So tony being tony decided he was Mick Dohan, and was gonna remove some knickers with his raw talent.
He red lines it and trys to blast off into the sunset, but his cold new michelin was having none of it. Tony was highsided and the bike tumbled arse over tit for about 100 yards.
smashing its shiny new bodywork into stardust.
I nearly filled my pants laughing.
what a tit. :)
Hey Stealthy,
As an engineer you might be interested.
Have you come across Fords new one litre eco-boost engine?
Its pretty mind blowing in how it behaves.
Its quite the mechanical marvel.
Mucho impressive.
Elvis
QuoteAs an engineer you might be interested.

No not a new one mate, is it a neat piece of kit?good reports?Fancy new concept?
I'm familiar with most of the "ecotech engines".Turbos/superchargers are the way forward
IMO when it comes to petrol or oil burners.always room for improvement with the internal
combustion engine.Rotary engines, now there great, the old WANKEL LOL.
i'm not working at the moment pal, here's the thing.....
Last job was sheeting that was 6 month's ago,Now i'm looking for THAT DREAM JOB ;)
and whilst I still keep my hand in I would only get back into a garage for really good money.
You get £7.00 an hour while the boss gets £70.00 an hour! I don't think so.
I like at
minimum £10.00 an hour or i'm not happy doing it but I help my mates. :)
That's more often than not free or for "a drink" I've moved on in that job area.
I'll always be tinkering with me spanners But no longer as a full time profession
i'm also a welder, Mig, Tig, Arc, Oxy Acette, city and guilds (Free course's so why not)
but again finding work that lasts seems to be a thing of the past thanks to greedy Agency's >:(
I'm multi skilled done sheeting, steel erecting, building work & more A jack of all trades.
Hell I was even A Drum & Bass DJ & worked all over the UK :D that was a cool time in my life.
where I live there aren't the trades or work, Maybe I will move? not decided.
I'm having a bit of a rethink with the job situation, I need something new.
If I could find the job that would be like a hobby and it made me happy i
would go for it.
i'm not really materialistic now, money is not the be all and end all like it used to be.
all this mad consumerism it's crazy, who needs a 60 inch TV etc.
Don't get me wrong I Like neat new stuff as much as the next bloke
but nowadays it's not my priority, Except MOTORCYCLES ;D
I know i sound a little hypocritical but Do we need all this "stuff"?
sorry for the rant/derail but do ya see where i'm coming from?.
Gold.
LOL giveth and ye shall receive.
I think it was the "your an engineer" that threw me Elvis, whilst I have applied for
and got the job with that title it means little of value to me.
It took me a long time to figure out that not everyone can wire a plug, change a timing belt
rebore an engine etc I THOUGHT EVERY ONE KNEW THIS STUFF.honest ???
not the case. I could stretch to building a working 2 stroke engine from a block of alloy IF
I set my mind to it But I would need A cad design for the math Not my strong point
so the word ENGINEER I use it loosely ;)
I certainly don't hold a bachelor's or Phd I'm nothing special believe me.REALLY
you know your way around a toolbox Elvis it's obvious so I guess we're both engineers.
Funny it sounds like such an important Title and for some It fits. REAL engineer's
like Brunel or stephenson! I am not that good hehe ;D

Greetings:
Back in the day, working for YMC (Yamaha - about half a century ago), we were fortunate enough to meet such greats as Don Vesco and his really crazy brother, Rick, when we campaigned at Bonneville. We say crazy, because he put a Chinook helicopter turbine motor in a 'car'! (If you can call a contraption only 2.5' x 3' x 31' - a car!)
For a brief moment, defending the "Red Dragonfly's" reputation (running Conoco pump gas), we came within a couple of miles of "Honda Rick's" APS-A-125 record of 102.375 - and went back to Colorado with a big smile. After all, we were all of 16 at the time, and a farm-boy who just happened to have found a friend at out first job off the farm (Karl Skoglund, owner at the motorcycle dealership/shop) who built really fast motorcycles. :P
That was then.
If the truth were to be told, we really, really like offshore powerboat racing, so much that we hosted and produced the 1998 Offshore Gran Prix at Singer Island, FL. :P
Our buddies at Team Drambuie threw a GREAT party - thanks! wink

I don't think we did, people just got more interested in making cheaper things instead of better things.
The technology exists, the will to make new technology exists, but an possible large and lucrative market doesn't exist then everything is ignored.
Look at the case of motorcycles: who are the big manufacturers and who are the innovators? Where is the new technology being applied to everyday bikes?
wrong answer ArMaP I grew up watching TOMORROWS WORLD being a child in the 70's
we were promised all the cool tech! and proved it was on the way. flying cars, home robots
jet packs, etc etc but it all just stopped when the big players in stone age fossil fuel crap
the greedy bastards said NO we will hold all the good stuff back!
And don't you dare come back with a lame "but we have these now garbage" that's not the point!

But you probably never viewed TOMORROWS WORLD. this was the cutting edge technology show of the day pal and these were encouraging times but then the 80;s came and we seemed to slow down to a snails pace.
Look what was accomplished from 1945-1970 SO MUCH STUFF (roswell ;D :o)
more was done and released onto the market in those 25 years than there has been in the years since 1970 at least what we know about or is available to select lucky few.NO?

SO Top Gear Elvis :) I do watch it on TV occasionally BUT I have to say there magazine
is in a different league.
My sister bought me a copy in april (april issue) I was looking through it the other day and it
had the Ford Ecotech/Ecoboost engine in.That would be the 3 cylinder 12 valve turbo yes?
Nice piece of motor! very revy.
The magazine whilst being £3.99 it's worth every penny there is just month's of reading material.
Great feature on "la ferrari" the peugeot "onyx" concept car and much much more that probably
won't make it onto the show or it may take a while.I RECOMEND IT IF YOU LIKE THE SHOW. ???
Also a great piece on the design legend that is http://danielsimon.com/ (http://danielsimon.com/) take a peek. 8)

It's like fricken Burma here.
I just got the new 3 cylinder Eco boost fiesta zetec s, and I must say its a bloody masterpiece.

That reminded me of the Japanese "kei" cars, specially one that I have on an old (1989/1990) French magazine, the Mistsubishi Minica Dangan ZZ, a 3 cylinder, 549 cc, 5 valves per cylinder, turbocharged, with 63 bhp at 7500 RPM and a torque of 75 Nm at 4500 RPM.

YES ArMaP these were/are the way forward. like the suzuki swift, hyundai i20, little nissan micra turbo , austin metro turbo, fiat uno turbo, renault 5 turbo ALL these and more like your example were/are some of the most exciting fast fun and economical cars to be produced.
It looks like we're heading back in the right direction with these pocket Rockets.Elvis's little Fiesta 1.00 liter 3 cylender turbo 12 valve been proof that things are looking good in this area.

Every auto enthusiast's dream in the 80's was to have these 3 cars lock horns, & one lucky man had this chance.
The V8 engined W2 Twin Turbo , 20 years advanced in my opinion (5-point seat belts, kevlar (5 years before the F40), heads-up display, navigation system, LCD computer data screens, flush-mounted glasshouse, ABS, 600 hp/ 190+ mph in the day that the countach was proud of 455 hp/ 181 mph, 3-seat configuration, fighter jet buttons, circuit breakers, etc..)
This V8 supercar was facing the V12 Countach (LP500S although the QV was already out) & the flat 12 Testa Rossa. The Testa Rossa, in the tester's opinion won for being the most user-friendly, but even he admitted that the other two were super-exotic.
It's a pity that the W2 never saw production & had to wait 3 additional years until it's revised version, the W8, appeared in 1990. By then, the Diablo had been shown to the world, & the Countach was laid to rest-proudly.
With all due respect to the current supercars, it doesn't come more exotic & crazy than the 80's supercars. The W2, Countach, 288 GTO, Pantera GT5, Aston Martin Bulldog, just to name a few, will always be regarded as some of the most exotic supercars ever to grace the auto world.
Just for grins... watch wear the your seatbelt!

That reminds me that once they asked a formula 1 pilot (I think it was Ricardo Patrese), what was the best memory he had after running in 200 grand prix, and he said that it was driving one of the Renault powered cars, with 1500 cc and turbo, with more than 1200 hp, as it had an impressive power that smashed him to the back of the seat when he accelerated.

Hey Eh you may like this for a bit of fun and truth !
I follow MTB about as much as Motogp these day's and MTb comes out first mainly due to the fact that I can buy a nice bike!
And in saying so how nice is this promo video ? The MTB world has promo stuff well and truly sorted compared to about anyone else in the racing world due to the fact they have to work their arse off to get some bucks :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJOu0a6sLfs
I adore how Nigel say's he needs a heart rate monitor to watch his guy's race, and his convo with Sam Hill where he says "Fooking Hell". Mate the team effort in that video is endearing! 8)
And whilst I am on a roll of Two Wheel Sport!
Rob Warner has to be the Best Commentator going!

Thought I would add this here as one member awhile ago said I should post this. I work on custom RC car/trucks (hobby) and I've nearly completed my latest one which is based on a HPI Savage Flux (My user name) :)
Still testing and need to make a few changes but getting there.
First video is me fluffing about testing the latest setup so not much action but you can see my front yard and plants :)

One of the other videos gives an idea of speed while testing in an open space. Tested with a smaller motor and not the current 'beer can' sized motor that is in it now which is able to reach very high speeds. Takes a little while into the video to see it max out (about 2:40 mark):

Wow.
Kind of like how i drive to work every day ::)
Now you know why i drink so much coffee..............
Yeah that's a nice custom build Flux! 8) we love anything with wheels in this thread!
Glad you bumped it with your R C speed machine, propper ankle breaker LOL.
Aye the CBR600, Bah she's insane. Well we both are :P
It does 160mph!! And gets there like lightning ;D
Geard down for the track so it screams! All tuned and a few "trick" bits here and there.
I'm gonna tidy up the ass and get some small LED indicators.
it's an absolute peach! Glad you like it guys, thanks for the appreciation :)
It's one of the few materialistic things I REALLY love and need in my life. Funny eh? I worked myself to death so I could afford it and the saving up was really hard.
Love the genesis range fruitbat, there actually collectable now you know?
We'll have to meet up summer time for a blat out!
Yup 9.5kgs of ankle breaker right there :)
I like most things with wheels on them.
I'll post up some more video whenever I get another one done just have to sort a couple of things out before I really test it. The truck was stuttering (cogging) due to the gearing so have to change that and then I should be right.
As you all know I love human powered two wheels and shake my head in disbelief how Motogp in general get their marketing all wrong compared to low budget mountain biking websites.
Sure the money in Moto is insanely more than say Downhill Racing etc etc. But how many comments will a motogp website generate compared to say Pinkbike.com ? The answer is not as many comments as Pinkbike will generate with a simple bike review.
With all that in mind it's freaking amazing that some in Motogp are realising that people like watching and learning about the technolgy behind the sport... WHo woulda thought ??? ::)
So good on Yamaha for releasing this video in regards to Electronics:

Yeah thats what my current build is based on. I lengthened the TVP's (custom) to create a 1/5 scale truck and added a centre diff to handle the extra powa ;D. Would love a job as a designer for various things but it isn't easy breaking into that line of work here. It isn't new doing this to these truck but I decided to have a crack at it myself and use my ideas instead.

FLUX that is awesome man!
very professional footage 8)
aye its a big market the US know doubt, massive following and hard to make an impact
commercially thats a shame mate.
and you can really drive them things! loving the drifting ;)
is that shear torque literally wheelying the truck or air creating the lift?
I wish that was me driving but it's not. That's footage from other peoples rides as well as HPI's own driver's that's why it's great footage.
I can drive the truck really well but don't have any footage of it at the moment due it (the 1/8 one) in bits in piece in a box :)
It's shear torque the truck has to pull the wheelies and back flips. You can also control the truck in mid air by going forward and reverse on the throttle to pitch the nose up or down so you can level it off for a landing etc.
all good flux.
yeah them brushless motors are insane aren't they! thought it was the amount of torque. ;)
the control in mid air that sounds like 'break tap' ya do the same on bike's to get the front
down when in flight ;)
Gyroscopic precession is the term. That would be a cool crazy idea building a heavy hi RPM
GYROSCOPE into the shell! that would give some strange effects ??? just thinking
out loud (probably been built?)
There are all sorts of toys you can get for RC and a Gyro is one. Haven't seen one in a Flux yet but there's still time :)
I'll post another video of my truck running once I get some more gear in from the big old US of A.
Impressive :D
yes a gyro would certainly give some wierd effects, i guess if you mount it right, it will just power forward instead of doing back-flips. Either that or add a BIG spoiler, but that will ruin the 'truck' look ;)
ETA: I meant an actual gyroscope, not those micro gyro attitude sensors, although you could use these to feedback to the forward / reverse control, in this way it will be much more stable, and you wouldn't have the weight of a flywheel, just a tiny gyro & some electronics ;)
Want to try the RC on stuff that doesn't have wheels?
We could use someone with your talents in the Inventor's Group........ 8)
I'm just a PM away. ;)

I would love to see the effects it created.

I love RC anything!! Boys & our toys eh :-)
Hey Flux
That little RC car is too cool. I first thought that it was gas powered. looks like so much fun that I got out my old cars. Now I am wondering if I can put one of those brushless motors in it.
Do you think it would work or need a lot of mods not to burn up?
Dang some of Z's recient posts have inspired to cleam up my jewelers bench and try to test my skills after 3 years away from it :)
Now you have me wanting to play with toy cars again. They are about 15 years old :( They do run tested them yesterday. Not even close on the torque or speed.I guess I am going to have to get updated.

You could play around with them but I would look into getting a RTR (ready to run) model as the tech in these new RC's are way more advanced than 15 years ago. What you need after you get the RC is batteries and a charger (if going electric, I don't do nitro/gas). Brushless electric motors plus Lipo batteries are giving the gas/nitro RC's a beating with the shear torque these components produce. Tower Hobbies is one store which has good prices but only if you get their discount codes (after you have signed up they send out the codes in emails for discounts on the products). 1/8 scale is a good size because they are between large and small so not too hard to work on. That truck is a HPI Savage Flux HP but HPI have a lot of other types of models to choose from. I picked HPI because of the parts support and Ebay supports the brand as we'll by having many dealers (I have to buy my gear from over seas due to my GEO location). Other brands out there like Losi, Onfa, Traxxas. Best to do some reading up on some of the brands. For me HPI are good, nothing is perfect but once you know what works you stick with it. Traxxas has a good parts support as well but.... they need it because they don't take as much of a beating like the HPI's do :)
Some more videos of the crazy truck jumping. This guy is a pro with the front and backward flips... enjoy ;)

Flux man that is cool! 8)
Using gyroscopic precession to control the flips!
I wish I had the spare cash for such a hobby :-(
Mind you I did have a little RC helicopter that was loads of fun and cheap enough not to worry about its eventual crash of doom!
Welcome to the Inventor's Group Flux ;D
I hope to be sharing some cool RC circuits with you, i just found some 2.4GHz :o micro TX.RX modules no bigger than a postage stamp 8) ...
These little blighters even have ASK keying and Arduino / Bluetooth apps...

..and they have 5.2 GHz modules!...
How the tech can simply fly ahead, if one stands still for but a moment... ::)
Hey Flux
Was doing a little research to day and had sticker price shock. Way out of my price range for now >:(
On the other hand I think with some more research I can upgrade the motor and speed control for under 100$. That would make my car do things that I never dreamed of and if I do it correct it wont self destruct. I have 2 complete cars so if i break something I have parts.
I also found that there is a inside track about 40 miles away.

Hi Shawn, time to fit a 'PWM' or Pulse Width Modulation to your DC motors!
Damn i have the complete plan somewhere, but basically it's a 555 suplying the PWM pulses to a Darlington tranny which is fed by a LM317 which gives 1.5-30V to the motor (above 18v via transistor or you will fry the 555 LOL )
Hope to post later on this subject, bye for now....

Cool if your handy with electrics then go for it 8)
Price is a bit of a shocker when first getting started in the new RC tech. ESC and motor were the biggest changes with the new stuff so as long as you don't go too powerful the rest of the car should hold up.

Thanks for the welcome :)
Tech just gets smaller and smaller with more bells and whistles.

In the end I think the comp controlled car would win >:(
I have been doing homework on my car. It has a the RS 540SF moter in it.It eas desinged to run 500 rpms faster than the 540SH.Not bad for a 15 yr old RTR car.
OK so my thought on this is to to get a new transmitter /reciever pack 100$ give or take.
80 $ on a programable esp motor package amd just have fun with this car until I am out of parts. Then buy kit to put my new parts in. LIPO powered :)
The promlem that I am having is selecting the motor. I see no 27 turn brushless moter for sale and I can not change the gearing.
So I guess my question can this new tec with a programable speed control make it work?
If you could supply links so i can understand this it would be a big help in my understanding.

Yes i think so, you can control torque, speed, etc all by computer these days, i eved have a 5 phase DC servo motor right here (damned if i know how it works but) it's beefy & can do over 10,000 RPM :o
Come to think of it, not a bad idea for a robot;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iy71djXqf3E

I wonder if you programed an RC car all the track data and let it drive itself around the track how would it go?
ote]

Hi Back,
Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner (must check how to get email notifications when there is a reply in a thread).
I did some looking around for you and came across this:
http://www.teamnovak.com/products/brushless/ss13.5/index.html
People have said it's quite hard to sort the correct brushless motor to replace a brushed motor but it looks like this company has sorted this with their brushless option for 27T replacement. Worth a look into. If you get stuck you could try one of the many RC forums on the web to get a better answer like someone may have done it with another type of motor.
Also make sure the ESC your getting has a sensor as this motor (Novak) is a brushless senor-based motor and requires one.

Hi Flux
No problem about the late reply. Thanks for the link. I will have to look at there other moters. I did join a RC site and your response was quicker ;)
Have to say I have the fever. I did find out that there is indoor banked sprint car style track close. I heard the banks are 3 ft tall ;D
I havent found the track yet but need to before I buy a car. I need to find out what classes they race. I am looking at a B4.2. I Didnt see anything the class.
If you want to talk RC I check in every day.

Thought I would show an update to my truck. Had to build a new centre differential so I could run a larger spur gear and lower pinion gear. Reason for doing so was because the truck was 'cogging' causing the truck to stutter off the line and not responding to driver inputs as well as it should. I had a bit of play near the end of the video on front grass verge :) Seems to be running fine now just need to get into an open area for a good run 8)

Awesome unit Flux!
Now you need a little wireless cam and sunglasses with monitor built in to watch it when it gets out of visual range.
My friend got a pair for his rc heli and they work great.
Yeah there are some crazy videos on Youtube showing people who have FPV cameras mounted to their cars and race them around outside while they sit in the lounge :)
My video was only showing part throttle. The motor used produces very low torque so I need to be careful how much I apply from stand still because I'll most likely nuke the differentials (this truck uses 1/8 scale parts with a stretched chassis to get to a 1/5 scale) :P
If anyone would like a good read the project it can be viewed on the RC forum Savage Central: http://www.savage-central.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=95748

Thanks for the links. You have a sick truck :P I did only get to page 15 before I had to reply. I will finish looking at et later after I get off my but and get some work done.
I anm almost sory to say that I just a slash rtr for my girls present.
But that is what they race around here cheep fun with the girl. The good news is that one of the local tracks( 50 miles away) is having a good turn out of ebuggy's ;D Daddys toy is going to be a b4.2 unless you got a better idea. If it is flux generated I am in if you help with the set up.
The place is so cool.2 indoor tracks and a huge out door track.
Last question is what do you do with that monster when it is done? do they race it there?

Glad to share the video with you guys. I'll be blasting the truck around the local track as long as the locals don't mind it on the track (big truck so it may make a mess of it). I can get footage of the truck on the track with the GoPro2 head mounted which you have seen in my other videos. Wouldn't mind doing a video/movie of it in action, got ideas just got to get around to it.
The Slash will be a good for the girls plus you can always get parts for the truck (it's not a toy so they keep building the parts for it). Whats best to look for in a RC is the parts support either at the local shop or you don't mine shopping on EBay. I went with HPI due to it being very popular (researched the web to decide).
FLUX MAN!
That Truck is so sick! 8)
Just been over at the Forum checking out the build. RECOMENDED ;)
Ya Really have to look at that to appreciate the work and skill gone into that model Flux.
christ! the money and time must be crazy,so worth it though.love the vacume former.
and your workshop,im jelouse 8)

Thanks Stealthy ;)
It's a current one off at the moment with version 1 of the TVP (twin vertical plate) design. The way you lengthen the truck is by extending the TVP's which creates the longer wheel base. I have version 2 of the TVP's just sitting in CAD at the moment.
TVP design is standard with the HPI Savage Fluxs and lengthening the TVP's isn't new but I decided that I wanted to do my own design and learn how to do it.
When I get a chance I'll work on some new video's of the truck in the holidays.
yeah man keep the vids flowing Flux!
did you get yourself a CNC setup?
(doing a few pages at a time i'm at where your thinking of getting one)
that would be awesome. think of all the custom work you could supply 8)
and that 2028 brushless LOL oh god LOL you animal!
its freaking huge! ;D
Costing of the CNC is out of my reach at the moment. Maybe one day ;)
Yup that 2028 is about the size of a beer can and you can even get bigger RC motors than that ;D
The real test is to see how well the front and rear differentials hold up seeing they are 1/8 scale in a 1/5 sized truck ???
You want one dont you? I do :)

Crazy work they have done. Bet there was some trial and error working out the motor for the thing ???
For all the vehicle nuts out there you have to see this crazy car game that is in development! Please watch because it's a laugh seeing what you can do to your car. Destruction on a grand scale ;D

Nice graphics too for a cheapie demo version.

Elvis.
Would love the build something like that but using some form of electric power plant. I could just up scale my truck and have the batteries mounted to the side of the TVP's so you can be sitting inside between the TVP's :)
I like this presenters reviews and have watched many of his car reviews. That EcoBoost sounds crazy when it whines up :o
Yea dude.
It's a beast in a small suit.
Love it. ;)
The nearest thing to a super heroe your gonna get these days is an Isle of Man TT racer.
Try this on and see if you could do it.
