How we got to a point like this where the insane can do what they want is beyond me...

I suspect it is mainly because no one really cares beyond whining about it on forums and facebook

I don't even think the American sheep care anymore, but that's just my opinion.  People outside the forums and FB are afraid to say anything.

I can acknowledge that I am an oversensitive pussy, but that does not necessarily stop me from being one.

I don't know what went wrong with my generation, or the one immediately after us.  In my case it wasn't due to not receiving corporal punishment.  I didn't get much, but I did get some, although I resented it, because I never believed that my father had sufficient integrity of his own to justify him hitting me.  In some ways my own childhood had less hardship than others, but in some ways considerably more; losing a kidney at 13 is not a universal rite of passage.  That pain did not make me tough; it made me determined to do whatever I could to avoid any more of it.  PTSD from my experience with the education system did not fortify me, either; again, I reacted by becoming completely avoidant.

In my case it also wasn't due to getting trophies for participation.  I never had those.  I failed at school and my reports reflected that.

To the extent that I am weak or a coward, it is primarily in the sense that I am tired of the world and other people; I don't want to really do anything in it or have anything to do with it, and in offline terms at least, the only thing I really want is for the rest of the species to leave me alone.  I don't want to be a physically awkward, autistic freak who women are afraid of and repulsed by, any more; and whose only reward for falling in love is pain, because nobody wants Quasimodo.

I've largely stopped viewing life as anything other than a chore and a punishment, even though I don't work and my existence would likely be considered idyllic by most people's standards.  I don't necessarily see myself as being less of a prisoner than anyone else though, just because my cage happens to have a couple of extra pillows in it.

This entire planet is a jail.  No one here is free; there are only relative levels of confinement.
