That NASA have to lie about space technology because the most advanced stuff is classified.  That gives rise to lots of conspiracy theories.  This is encouraged by alphabeties and co as the tech is classified.

Hoax is a funny term... ATS uses it when its convenient. But since 90% of stuff on forums and youtube is false info, that means hoaxes are the norm and reality is in the minority...

Well, perhaps they do some real work too.  But that is what it is used for yes.  No way is what NASA say they use the best technology available.  Absolutely no way.  I am practically certain of that.

One example would be the Shuttle.  With the right engines, it could do more and be launched cheaply from the back of a very high altitude carrier plane.  Why wouldn't you do that if you could?  It could probably leave low earth orbit too as you don't need so much fuel once you are up there, surely.  If part of the loading bay was used for materials for a longer trip........  You get the picture?
