I tried something new, I isolated that area and then tried to match the color of the clouds. It now looks as it it might just be a photo glitch with the negative. When I look at it, I think I can see the cloud pattern continue right through it. In deuem it appears as a hole. I can not find any EM fields or structure and I tried many times,

So at this time I am going with clouds and a smear on the process somewhere. For me the clouds do process like other clouds. I do not think it is ice or frost. Maybe a mashed potato, That got me hungry! [honey, mashed potatos for supper tonight],

If one of you has processing skills try it and see if you can match the clouds with out pasting clouds in the area, all I did was to pick the object and play with the settings, no pasting/

With that zooming in the pattern is mostly from the JPEG compression.

For some reason I only looked at the image on the right side, that looks better, while you used the image on the left.

Try it with the image on the right and you will see that it has more detail.
