Well for example.

They are saying that in Star Wars that the line was "Luke, I am your Father".  But now is "No, I am your Father"

In the Simpsons the line remains "Luke, I am your Father"

The Simpsons aren't saying that the line in Star Wars was "Luke, I am your father", they are only using that line.

Why would the Simpsons have it the way a lot of us remember?

Why not? It could be for two reasons:
1 - they may be using that line exactly because it's not the one on the film, so no rights problems;
2 - the people that wrote the text or decided what the text should say also thinks that was the original line.

Is it immune to the Mandella effects?

The Mandela effect is thinking that things changed, if they are using the line that doesn't appear on the movie then they are affected by the Mandela effect, not immune. If they were immune they would say the text as it appears in the movie.

PS: I also think that nothing changed and it has always been "No, I am your father".

For me it is '"Luke, I am your father" and I saw those films so many times the main lines are etched on my grey matter

For me has always been "No, I am your father". Just look at the rest of the conversation, "No, I am your father" makes more sense than "Luke, I am your father", as it's an answer to what Luke just said.

PS: As I think the whole Mandela effect is just people trying to hide their own mistakes under a fancy name for memory slip, I thought that someone with many facebook friends could make a simple test and try to start a new example of the Mandela effect, by choosing, for example, a sentence from a movie or a song and asking other people if they remember something else, then see how many people agree with this new example.

This whole ME seems to be increasing and its darn well annoying the hell out of me.

Example:  One show I watch every week is The Haunting Of.........usually a celebrity and Kim Russo, psychic medium goes to where there haunting was with the celebrity and finds out what went on.

So, I am watching the show below for a second time on youtube, but this time all the words are written backwards instead of forwards like it was a few weeks ago, not happy Jan.

At my local Loews AMC movie theater, they have movie quotes that run along the top of the walls in the hallways that lead up to each theater.  I remember that there was the Star Wars quote (or misquote) on one of the hallways and after a quick google image search, I found the quote.  The picture was of the entire hallway but I cropped it to show the quote.



I had a friend who pointed out years ago that that line is misquoted and every time I've watched Empire Strikes Back, it stands out to me.  However, popular usage goes a long way and the misquote isn't only in The Simpsons, it was also in Tommy Boy.



Now, that being said, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Hannibal Lecter never said "Hello Clarice" in Silence of the Lambs.

That is the biggest problem with this effect... those from THIS current timeline would not see anything amiss  and those anyone that says they recall it as being different would be treated as if they were crazy, delusional or have a faulty memory.

But as Biggles just pointed out the effect is getting stronger and more people are becoming aware that something is going on...
