I saw that. :)

One question: is your son an Iron Man fan or a general comics fan?

General fan, I'm the comic nut!  ;D

Edit: after reading the rest of the posts, he's just as much into comics as I am. He's given me several items related to comics. So he should have remembered. But it was with his old girlfriend and he may have put out of his mind.

Question, bear with me on this -
What kinds of machines generate electromagnetic fields?

Anything and everthing using electricity generates an EM field.  It is a mtter of STRENGTH of that field that is important

If you live under power lines you can light up a fluorescent tube with your hand (you are the 'ground' connection :D )

A proper UFO nee Flying saucer type craft whether ours or theirs generates a very powerful field that can trigger the old balarms at a nuke base, stop a car, etc

An Em field strong enough to disturb the matrix? As far as I know, we don't have anything that strong  though who knows what they have at Area 51 :P

The EM field around a flying saucer is why you cannot get a clear photo of one when it is powered up :P and it is what makes many of our planes STEALTHY  by applying EM fields to a special 'coating' on the plane (invented by Dr Joe Resnick, patent stolen by the US Government for the fee of $1.00)

The memory is strong but may be wrong. :)

One question  WHY do you think it may be wrong?  To me it makes more sense that when so many people have so many clear memories that it becomes time to search for a real answer, not just assume they are having faulty memories, are delusional or are crazy...

Most scientific discoveries have happened because people dare to look beyond what is the accepted answer  Scientists told the Wright Brothers that flying is not posible :P

Because it's possible. :)

We know that people, sometimes, have memory lapses, either forgetting something or misremembering something.

In this "Mandela effect" case, what we see just a yes/no situation. When we ask someone "what was the name of that show, was it 'sex and the city' or 'sex in the city'?" we are already presenting them the possible answers, limiting their answers (if they don't really remember). Some people, when faced with two choices always choose the last one they heard, so someone like that, when hearing the above question would choose the second choice, 'sex in the city'. Also, many people (or most, I haven't really make a statistic, even informal), when asking something to other people present the choice they think are right in the end, maybe because they know (even without noticing) that other people tend to choose the last option.

Saying that the universe changed around them is not really looking for an answer, as they are choosing something completely unproven. Also, accepting unproven theories while disregarding known facts is not the best way of making scientific discoveries, as science should be based on facts.

PS: if scientists at the time told the Wright brothers that flying was not possible then they didn't know about the previous work from other people, in which the Wright brothers based their work, like Otto Lilienthal, so those scientists were the ones ignoring the facts.

Sounds like the majority of scientists and especially archeologists in general  ::)

It would appear to me that the Mandela Effect has 2  "in common " things going for it. 1. It is personal 2. It is random.

My Mandela Experience(sorry) was Mandela him self, I read and heard on the radio, he had died in prison. It did make an impression on me. My utter Shock was when it was announced he was the leader of South Africa. It  made me feel like I was falling from a great height. After awhile, I chalked it up to my feeble mind.  Then as I did my forum browsing. The same experience started to pop up a very times, from others. It made me feel better, that I was not alone, with the "Experience", but still one with no explanation? :o

Is it an Experience attached to the person, or the "event" or both? It seems to be an "occurrence "  enough to have it's own label,  Mandela Effect, even without explanation.

It appears to be a tad bit of both, Phedre;from my own personal experiences and beliefs, we do travel together in "soul" groups, and it does appear that when something wiggles in the continuum, we experience the same change; now the thing is, everything we have noticed that catches our attention is a periphery event not tied directly to us,and I wonder just what we would notice if something directly affecting us did occur, or if we could notice it; paradox at work would probably also be pulled out of our memory

If you mainly rely on hearing the title of the show then "Sex and the City" sounds just like "Sex in the City".  If you ignore the credits and title text then how would you remember what the show was really called?  Especially rdunk who never watched it. :)

Hi Seeker, I can relate to what you are saying, for the most part. :) I'm old, my accelerated aging, has come to my direct attention and I notice my new aches and pains. By the same token, my skin Dr. Tells me I am growing what my skin Dr calls "barnacles" comes under the same category as aging, but I was totally unaware of these "new arrivals"  until she pointed them out to me.

So I would say I am aware of just so much. Who knows what flys around me in the soup of life, that is never noticed, or perceived.  But it is certainly exciting to think about catching on to something once in awhile!

Here is another one that I know wasn't right, six people in the JFK assassination car.

I know that I know nothing - thanks Capricorn.

I have to disagree on that one, Biggles; 2 secret service agents, John and Missus Connally, Jackie and John Kennedy; I have a copy of the original film footage squirreled back and have watched it for far too many times...

That's why I said some posts back that it was already too late to research this, now everybody's excuse is the "Mandela effect".

I do believe I still have a vcr tape of Star Trek with "Beam me up, Scotty" on it; at one time had every episode on VHS, will have to see if my son still has all of them along with all the Dr Who episodes from John Pertwee thru Peter Davidson  8)
