Some strange stuff on Mars

Hi guys! Here are some Mars images from my album. The IAS Viewer has been used in some of these.

Are what you're about to see in these images, vestiges of a lost civilization or just natural rock formations on Mars? Most likely the latter. Whatever, they're intriguing nonetheless! Enjoy!

I've heard all they have to do is use the "jump room" to get there, and that there is a base probably the US Space Command.

The problem with all these is why can't aliens build something that doesn't look like sh*t?   A nice ranch house or bungalow maybe.....  a neat, clean geodesic dome.   Sheesh...

I've downloaded and loaded in HiRise all the images Mikesingh posted, but it would help a lot if, in the 'cropped' images posted, some location is indicated.

These are very large files and I could save some time if I knew the general area to look at....

Hi Rock! Yes, some of those images are pretty huge and I had to scour the area with the IAS viewer that took me hours! That was a few years ago when I used to post on ATS. So finding those exact spots again would take time and energy and a couple of glasses of beer too!

If they were ruins then it is unlikely they will look perfect today.

If you processed the image, do you know what the parallel lines (almost parallel with the picture vertical edges) running all the way from top to bottom?  It makes the image look textured.

My processing was exactly to enhance the textures, and, in this case it also enhanced those vertical lines, that I suppose are a result of the way the image is captured, as cameras like HiRISE work line scanners, capturing one line at a time while the satellite moves from north to south or vice-versa.

I have to look for my image.

Well whatever method you used works.

There's one big difference between those two photos: the angle.

I can understand why some people see something that looks like a favela, but that only when the photo of the favela is taken at a low angle and the photo from Mars at a high angle (close to 90º).
