HURRICANE IRMA

I have been watching Hurricane Irma on Ventusky  That is a really interesting program as you can see changes hourly.

Apparently the predictions of path are fairly accurate up to 5 days out  After that too many variables can effect the direction etc

So for RIGHT NOW  Irma is still a ways out with 60 mph winds

https://www.ventusky.com/?p=24;-52;2&l=wind

Tuesday has it just off the Dominican Republic

https://www.ventusky.com/?p=24;-52;2&l=wind&t=20170905/22

Wednesday  its just off shore but winds increased

https://www.ventusky.com/?p=24;-52;2&l=wind&t=20170906/22

Thursday just off the coast Dominican Republic  winds increased

https://www.ventusky.com/?p=24;-52;2&l=wind&t=20170907/21

Friday just off Cuba  higher winds still with a second storm right behind it

https://www.ventusky.com/?p=24;-52;2&l=wind&t=20170908/21

Saturday  between Cuba and Florida  yesterday it was right over Havana and stronger so it has already changed

https://www.ventusky.com/?p=24.0;-52.0;3&l=wind&t=20170909/21

Then on Sunday it slams into Florida going straight up the center of the state from the Keys to the north

Hopefully it will take a hard right turn and head for Greenland  8) I don't need a flippin' hurricane rolling thru my backyard right now; I have to drive up to Ohio on the 14th  ::)

Hoss, it's up to a strong Cat 4 already and huge, working on becoming a Cat 5; you might want to consider heading for higher ground...

Either higher or lower.  One of the ways in which Americans are more forward thinking than us in Australia, is that apparently basements are a traditional feature of homes.  Bugging in can work; I'm just reading a thread in /r/preppers from someone who just survived Harvey.

Survivalism isn't just a form of therapy for a civilian inferiority complex any more.

Well it already veered a little since yesterday  Had it hitting Hvana yesterday Now its showing it stays just offshore between the islands and Cuba  until it hits the Keys

Toss ame Secret at it and move that sucker north...  Then we can tell all the HAARPIES that WE moved it :P

I'm 7.1 ft above sea level here in Belle Chasse, La.
So far it looks like a cold front will keep it out of the Gulf. (hoping that it stays East)....Sorry Seeker.... ;)

Have no fear, I am steadily focusing on it moving away from the projected areas; it is now a full blown Cat 5 and growing...They just said winds of 175MPH??

it is already large enough that the outer edges will be affecting south georgia by the time the eye wall approaches Miami...

They just said Irma is the same size as the state of Texas...

I am concentrating on that dip in the jet stream steering it far east; even tho I am 300 miles from the coast and 1100ft above sea level, several hurricanes in the past have raised pea mortal hell around here as they rolled thru; Opal was the last one, and we didn't have power for 2 weeks  :o

I will probably get the end of it (and the end of Harvey), as they usually end up in Europe as just a bit of bad weather.
