I have recently returned from the Skinwalker Ranch. I was there with friends and will be releasing info and pictures over the next several weeks. Mostly because I am busy making a living but also because the way movies work is you have to build up some suspense and thereby get some interest in the picture built up too while you're at it (hopefully). It's called marketing and yes, it's all a big tease because it has to be, media is so fractured now those who don't get the attention go broke and broke people can't afford to investigate ANYTHING. And if nobody can afford to investigate anything people like you and me will never KNOW about anything. It's that simple.

So, with all that out of the way here's my first installment of my story about the hardest place to get into that I've legally gotten into...

Skinwalker Ranch: March, 2018

The place does have a feeling of indescribable and internally moving grace about it combined with an equally indescribable feeling of just plain weirdness...

My logical mind attributes the "weirdness" feeling to the last 25+ years of stories I've read about it and the personal recitals of those tails by the people who lived them. People I know personally who have shared their experiences at the ranch with me face to face. Brilliant people who certainly DON'T need to impress me with flights of fancy and have ZERO reason to B.S. me.

The "Graceful" feeling, bordering on peaceful, which was definitely there, I have no explanation for and it seems counter-intuitive and just plain strange.

Anyone who has been around ATS long enough knows I am an eternally open minded skeptic; if I don't see it with my own eyes, if I can't replicate the results, or find more than one (reputable and credible) person who saw it then well, I'm not impressed, to put it politely.

All that said, the place did "move me". I don't expect that to mean anything to anyone but me, but the fact remains... I don't have time to get into the details in this opening salvo of what I hope will be many posts but I assure you I believe there is "something" weird about that place, don't know what and can't guarantee it's not because I want to feel that way, but, after being home for more than a week I still feel "it".

That is unique.

I've been to lots of weird places and none of them have ever even impressed me, much less left a an impression on me like this one has. For the moment I'm chalking it up to the legend that preceded my visit...

In the interest of full disclosure, my reasons for traveling to the ranch were not completely selfish, i.e. finally getting into a place I've been trying to get into for 25+ years.

I was asked by dear friends to take part in the filming of the first genuine documentary done on one of the most mysterious and hard to get access to places on the paranormal side of the planet. I was happy to oblige and will be encouraging anyone with an interest in the ranch to check the film out when it's released.

Just to quash any B.S. spewed by the jealous and/or haters, NO, I won't be benefiting financially from the film, I truly believe it's the best (and only legit) historical record of the place that we've all been interested in for decades you'll ever see.

Believe it or not, as one of the founders of ATS I feel I owe it to our membership to share the info. I've seen the rough cut of the movie and it's good, factual, and very much NOT the typical crap you'd see on cable TV that pertains to the topic/phenom. That, and the fact ATS gets a nice mention makes it all good with me. :-)

Anyway, here's the first photo from the trip I can release, it's a pretty cool one that was taken during a very interesting part of our stay at the ranch. The faces that are blocked will be revealed as the release of the movie gets closer.



Backstory:

The second night we built a campfire in the same spot where George Knapp (he's on the left, Jeremy Corbell is in the middle, and that's me over on the right) lit one some 20+ years ago back when NIDS was on property. We did it in front of the spookiest abandoned old ass house I've ever seen.

Don't get your hopes up though, in spite the very well documented history of the ranch (the very thing that caused me to want to go there in the first place) nothing happened to me while I was there. But, I feel that isn't very meaningful.

I've NEVER seen a UFO, a ghost, or even a weird shadow. You'd think that the guy who is is into the topic(s) like I am would have by now but, alas, I have not.

Maybe I'm just jinxed, or, maybe the phenom just doesn't like me...

Either way I have several more images of places in the ranch that very, very few people have ever seen that I will be uploading over the next week or two, stay tuned...

Yep. it's the same old me (I'm on the right in the campfire picture).

I'm a few years older than my avater picture but I'm still me. ;-)

Springer, I'm astounded. Assuming that no footage has been manipulated for the sake of making an interesting trailer, then from what I've seen, they got the phenomena on video, and it, to me, appears to be technological, not paranormal.

In fact, it reminds me of what Bennewitz photographed.

Hats off to Jeremy.

I do have to ask why this footage has been sat on for 14 years?

George's footage has been "sat on" out of a lack of funding to produce it in a non sensationalized documentary. George didn't want it spun into something it's not nor did he want it mocked.

Jeremy came along and made a huge impression with his intelligence, sincerity, and critical thinking skills...

In other words, the stars aligned. :-)

From the little that is to see, my first guess would be a camera artifact.

What kind of camera was used? Is the footage replayed at real speed?

I've done some pretty in-depth motion and delta analysis. The video source is an unusually stable VHS / NTSC but it might not be being recorded at 60i. From what I've heard Alexander say, it could be running at 30-60 frames per minute.

Although no one has focussed on this, I've already mentioned that this footage lacks a second timer, unlike the other security camera footage shown in the trailer. I REALLY think people should be asking why.

Again - why does this clip, running at 38 frames (not quite a full minute, not requiring the clock to move) not display seconds?

The appearance is not:
- An internal reflection
- An analogue video artifact
- A digital video artifact

Nor is it a 'standard digital video fade effect'. Due to the way these objects materialise, it is almost certainly not an atmospheric illusion.

For what it's worth, these pillars appear above the abandoned homestead, right where Tom Gormand said that they would occasionally appear.

TLDR, from a detached objective point of view, this is either a modern still image turned into a VHS-like footage with a complex composite effect, or this is something recorded in camera 2004.

Questions:
- Why is this filmed off a monitor rather than a direct playback?
- Why is there no second counter (note I don't see this as evidence of the fake. I would in 1996. Not now, it's too easy to add in)
- Was this recorded in an interlaced format?
- What was the angle and zoom on the lens?
- What is it that leaves the 'portal'

You may be right on the image(s) made to look like grainy or old video clips, lots of shows do this for effect (like Dead Files when the handheld camera is on Amy) I suspect at least some of this is for effect specifically for the trailer

I think you'll find (if you do a bit of zooming in)... that the 'Sword' is more than likely an old tilting communication or electrical pole in the distance.

Pareidolia... it can be a 'wondrous' and 'fun' form of illusion as our brain tries to make sense of things.

It's hard to tell if you see it at normal speed, but at 25% or slower, you can see a consistent fade in. There's far more going on in this sequence, than the fade in. Right now, I'm not going to speak about that because I have two likely theories but I don't want to prejudice others.

It could be an internal reflection, a transition added in post, an atmospheric effect or something

I'll reserve judgement until I see the movie. All the quick cuts etc in the trailer, may not be actual footage of any event, but just in the trailer to hint at what MAY be in the movie. I'm hoping we get a long look at some actual footage of something happening in the film

I agree on all your points. Trailers can be misleading. We've all seen movies where a scene in the trailer never appears in the film.

Or a scene plays totally differently when viewed in context.

I do wonder why all these interviews were filmed ten years ago if everyone was under NDA.

I really think the documentary will be good even if there is no big video reveal. Firsthand eyewitness testimony to some of the most bizarre paranormal sightings has me eager to see the flick!appearing.

There is a type of image analysis that can answer some of this, but until we have more information it doesn't seem worth it.   

Wild. Anyone know if anything was said before about these pillars forming? Looks like it was at 8:52 pm at night too

A very good point. We might be looking at a localised heat inversion, but I'd suggest that the source of it was not natural. We'll have to wait and see.

I get the feeling we are looking at a documentary largely about Cattle Mutilations (TM). Will Linda Moutlon Howe be involved?

Wish i knew. I'd like jeremy Corbell to do an AMA here to answer some of the questions. But likely the big reveals, if any, will wait until the documentary release.

Few people are let into the inner sactum for Skinwalker Ranch, so this is an exciting film to wait for. Knaap's book was an exciting peek into SWR too, but here's hoping for some visual proof in the documentary. Anyway Reject, don't expect the trailer to give away any big secrets. I'm sure you understand why.
