Saudi prince blows $500 million on flying horse stable

Got $500 million burning a hole in your pocket? Spring for a personal jet with "a garage for two Rolls-Royces, a stable for horses and camels ... and a prayer room that rotates so it always points toward Mecca." The New York Times reports that Airbus will deliver such an aircraft this year to Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal, a major investor in Citigroup and Twitter. It's the most expensive personal jet in history, topping recent models that feature such amenities as saunas, built-in pianos and a replica of the Sistine Chapel ceiling. We haven't seen such airborne extravagance since Elvis' personal jet, the Lisa Marie, hit the tarmac -- after refurbishing costs, the King spent close to $600,000.

Forget the rest. I would just like to spend some time with the horses that he considers worthy of sharing his jet with him.

I am a horse person  remember.... Linda

For that money, he could clone the best racehorse, enter the clones in races around the world, and probably make a profit 8) :o ;D

Or just buy everyone in Kentucky and make them let his horse win the Derby!

You know, Sky, the worst thing about our fine country is our dependence on dope dealers like the shiek. We dont buy drugs actually, but we are addicted no doubt.
And this d-bag just rides along on his fancy jet with a stable on it, on my dime.

Maybe we can rescue those poor horses like the peacock from Linda's book!;)

As long as we use fossil fuels, and burn oil, we are under his pathetic little thumb.
Pretty strong country we have here, and some of the deadweight needs to step up for a change, before WE are the country on those starving children commercials asking for a handout from Ethiopia.

Dad wanted someday to be able to tell the Arabs  " We need your oil like we need your sand."

I hope eventually I will  hear someone in authority in this country say that!....  Linda

And i second that, Linda!
Maybe the Arabs will stick their heads in that sand, and leave them there.
That would be nice, too!

Pump prices on Catalina Island, Avalon... out at the Pebbly Beach station.... have hit over 7.00 a gallon.

Of course, no one there much cares a hoot. REALLY. How far can you go... the vehicles are restricted and most everybody drives electric golf carts.

Cab prices are the things going up I am sure.... but other than that its about the only community I know of that can sport that kind of price per gallon and still smile.

Dad drove a little blue Marketeer electric cart while he was there. The thing is probably still being used! And I had a Taylor Dunn electric flatbed truck ( you see them handling baggage in airports sometimes. I could move bales of hay and everything... it was great!)

was trying to find the video i saw about a month ago on youtube. about  the king or president or whatever he's called, of dubai i believe it was.  he drives around the city without guards. he has no bullet proof glass or armor on his vehicle.  all the residents make alot of money and people recognize his jeep he uses to drive to work (his work vehicle apparently), and honk at him and wave as he drives by.  it's really bizarre.  like dubai is really not on earth and the people who live there are protected by some magical field of friendly and if you try to enter and are psychotic or unfriendly,  you ain't going in.....or something. i mean it's WEIRD (in a good way)

Whell... let's just invent something that makes billions of dollars... Invest the money in a huge artificial Island located in International waters and experiment to our hearts content; expanding the Island as needed. The Island would of course be climate controlled...

Grind up all the plastics we can gather...use them as a filler mixed with a polymer...

How about making a "fragrance bomb" that can be used to refragrance your household... ( something similar to a bug bomb ) I've got Tons of simple little idea's... Just need a group to work with to make it happen...
