It looks like a Nigerian national brought it over ... (reading the article above, Public Health England state that it is a low level threat ..  .. but I know if PHE are involved then it very likely isn't a low level threat - )

*placeholder for Fans' - I will watch for more news like this -*

No. The articles I just read about it are too vague and ambiguous; it states that it is spread by close personal contact yet the patient is in strict isolation  :o

Same here with the CDC; if they said it was nothing of concern but had the patient in ISO I would be having serious doubts, too

@ Seeker, so about 8 years ago a ex contracted Shigella dysentery

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dysentery

in Egypt on holiday, which as you will know is a really infectious and debilitating illness, she came home, went to the doctors, they diagnosed the problem and PHE came out to see her the next day and quarantined her in her house for 2 weeks - they got in touch with everyone on the plane, and from the Egypt resort where she picked the bug up from - she was told by PHE that it was a precaution and nothing to worry about -  ::)

I see that PHE have identified a case in Blackpool but no more reports of others, although they are tracing everyone on that flight from Nigeria -

I will keep checking the news reports -  8)

@ Seeker,

I will keep checking the news reports -  8)
I would  8)

In this day and time it would be all too easy to start a pandemic by having one contagious person make a long flight to somewhere; and what about all the people at both airports that came into contact with this person?  :o

keep us updated, Fans'
