'Monolith' Object on Mars? You Could Call It That

QuoteAmateur stargazers have discovered an intriguing object jutting out from the surface of Mars. The seemingly perfectly rectangular, upright structure, found in NASA images of the Red Planet, bears a striking resemblance to the monoliths planted on Earth and the moon by aliens in the classic sci-fi film "2001: A Space Odyssey."

The object in question was first spotted several years ago after being photographed by the HiRISE camera onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, a NASA space probe; every so often, it garners renewed interest on the Internet. But is it unnatural — a beacon erected by aliens for mysterious reasons, and even more mysteriously paralleled in the imaginations of Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke, creators of "2001"? Or is this rock the work of nature? [Photo]

I have to believe, since They say it's been around the web a while, that it must be here on the site somewhere, but I found no mention of it, and it was on the Yahoo news front page, so...  I figured I'd post it.

One foot resolution on Mars, why not on our own moon?

I cant recall exactly where I read some interesting facts about Moniliths...
some of the things I read were very scary...as if to suggest that they are some sort of omen...Only for people who see them in space or on the moon or Mars as far as I recall..  when certain people witnessed them they have soon died....

I think it was some where on this website which has a lot of interesting information on it on various associated topics..

scroll down about 2/3rds of the page for Moniliths.

This is past article about a monilith on Mars

It may have been these articles that discuss some strange things that have happened with moniliths that have been found in space or elsewhere.

Very weird indeed !

I think Dr Micheal Wolfe had dealings with them...

Im no expert, but this guy is...Paul Muir and the Orb Bar Wave theory.
This video is the most compelling evidence to explain these anomalies in a non human, or alien way.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCYCEumnP6k&feature=player_embedded

He shows a bit of hope for the anomaly folks, who are excited about structures and such on distant planets.

Of course, some arent natural, but if you watch the video and listen closely, youll see how close Muir really is to explaining most of them.

I also thought of how his theory was describing the combining of Cymatic(resonant) energies, and the energies of beneficiation. Its a perfect storm of sound and ion settlement that creates these strange shaped anomalies, and Muir has a handle on the earthbound ones, too. Can you say spheres, fulgirites, rods, and orbs in the sky? Theyre here, too!

Check out some of his ideas, and ask yourself..Is this really possible?..I did, and the answer as a scientist and esoteric researcher, YES!

As a conspiracy theorist, the story just gets deeper, when we think of how the government or other powerful entity was controlling the formation of dust into structures before we could even fly in the air.

Yes, that monolith is probably older than any of us, and thats good evidence for the man on mars scenario, or better yet, alien intervention! If we can step back and take in all the theories, we'll begin to see the truth, as a shining light of hope.
Or a dark blast of doom.

If we place a monolithic structure in a pile of sand and vibrate it, it will sink into the sand like the picture here shows. Thats a good indicator that either the monolith has a resonance and is active or alive, or something underneath it is shrinking and it's settling, like an abandoned mine or tunnel system, perhaps. Basic archaeology there folks! Except the artifact would be of an alien nature, so why not stitch a new patch for our astronauts...the Astro-Archaeology Commission, digging for truth where noone else can.

In addition, I would like to point out that a monolith can come from anywhere, and that one clearly landed upright, so how in the world did it do that? If it landed upright, that is the smoking gun to tell me it was placed or set there carefully. If it was propelled to mars from somewhere else, it could be anything, and if so, it's probably the most interesting artiact of all!
There is some ejecta, so ....

And thats why we will never know what it is, as they wont go to look, out of fear for the unknown.
Damn ass backward government, go check out that darn monolith, now!

And on that note...have a nice day!:)

This appeared in 2009, and one newspaper even had the wrong photos on their article.

Now, this new article talks about "stargazers" when the only thing they need to gaze at is (or is it are?) photos.

That's HiRISE photo PSP_009342_1725.

As I said in 2009, in another forum, it looks like a rock (one rock = monolith) that fell from the area above the one where it now rests.

But now that I look better at the area I think it's more likely that it was a rock that was uncovered by the landslides.

Also, as you can see, there are at least two slab-like rocks on the photo.

It does, but apparently it makes some people think about something and other people about something else, because LROC (the camera aboard the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter that took those photos of the Apollo hardware on the Moon's surface) takes photos with that (and even better, it depends on the altitude at which it is flying) resolution.  :)

Oh how I wish there was a thumbs-up I could have clicked for that one!

Relax guys, it's just Jerry Garcia's tomb stone.

Or a doorway between worlds ( Star Gate ) - connected to Earths Stone Henge system... Which stone do you have to walk through to exit onto Mars? But probably Jerry Garcia's tomb stone...

Why? Do you think that there aren't any 30 cm per pixel photos of the Moon?

Where can I find some ArMap? I see the LRO is capable, where's the beef?
