Hotel at Area 51

Hotel at Area 51

Dont know if its just me or if some of the online maps have covered up more for Area 51..

A few weeks ago I came across a map that showed a Hotel at Area 51...

When I have justlooked for it now, I cannot seem to find it or many other wording  refs to Area 51 at the moment..

Maybe I am using altered or outdated maps..

I thought I was using  a google and bing map...

I wonder if anyone can find a ref to the hotel !

Only Hotel near Area 51 is the Little A'Le'Inn in Rachel Nevada



There are lodgings in Mercury but those are restricted access

          Howdy astr0, there are hotels in Alamo Nv. a bit towards Las Vegas South on HWY 93 from the 93-375 junction.  I think there are 2 or 3.

   They have done work on The Little Aleinns rooms last I heard.  They made it more varmint proof then it use to be, it was a mouse house before. lol

I found the hotel inside Area 51.... within the general area that we are familiar with.. ie where the various hangers are etc

If I can find it I will let you know the coordinates.

   Wow, that's a new one!   Z did say something about a restricted hotel.  No doubt this one would be restricted too. Was the hotel in the map as a normal part or was it an animated overlay like an add?  Did it have any associated links or anything? 
   Google earth has had some problems with certain animated images not lining up where they are suppose to.  I have not heard of anything like that happening on the regular map sites thou. Hope you find it again! Good luck!

In the last year or longer... when I used one of the free online maps...  maybe google or bing if I recall..

I do not subscribe to google so I cannot easily just use their maps direct via google  to recheck.... unless I find some certain  url  links that use google maps that allow me to use their maps..

when I was able to accesss the maps some weeks ago. and in the past before google made us accept their new terms and conditions after the date protection laws came in last year.... I was able to view their maps and zoom in to Nevada  and Area 51 area... and in particular close up around Area 51 Groom Lake and its buildings...

Upon doing so... the map allowed me to see certain parts as having descriptions wrote on the map that related to certain parts of the area...

and the last time  I did use it... I found one of the buildings that suggested one of the buildings was a hotel..

and if I recall it may had been a Hilton... and this as far as I could understand was a direct building and description towards the particular building .. within Area 51... and not some sort of advert promoting a hotel near by elsewhere.. such as Alamo or Las vegas..

this was one of the links that I have used in the past, but at the moment it does not seem to work correctly to allow me to view anywhere else than a small area....maybe other members can view it in full open further detail..

I think this link gave some of the details of the names of certain Roads such as Groom lake Road around the main Buildings area... but it may not make a ref to particular buildings... like another one that I must have used before..

I will keep trying to see if I can find it but lately I am having limited time..compared to what I used to..

If I recal the hotel was one of the buildings at the North top end west of of the main long run way where most of the main buildings area is located...

so if you try looking on either standard map or Satellite view... you maybe able to see if you zoom in far enough some of the descriptions of some of the buildings..

It maybe that google or bing have taken down some of the descriptions...

You have the RIGHT area yes?  because the map you linked is Coyote Springs not Area 51. Coyote Springs is on the public Highway 95 from Tonopah to Las Vegas

How does a building 'suggest' it is  ahotel?



Well if Hilton has a Hotel it would be on their list

WHY would they need a hotel at A51? Its not open to tourists ya know and the Military has bunks

I don't like 'standard ' maps  I prefer direct satellite images MUCH better results  So  maybe you can find the hotel on THIS one

I wish I could recall in more detail.. both the name of the hotel  and its actual location.

What I want to ask is if you use google maps at Area 51s base to the left side of the long rung way..

When you look at the buildings, can you see any writing on any of them....

such as say building 13 or some other details.

I ask as when I did come across the hotel... if I recall several buildings has some sort of ref to them...

and I was really surprised to find one saying Hotel.

IF I had to guess... further to the left of the main building but towards between the mountain range and most buildings..

Theres a Square looking one that had quite a lot of what look like cars in a car park surrounding it.

If they are cars... and so many I am rather surprised also... as You would think cars were mainly for getting around to other hangers around the base and not to come a hotel...

why they have a hotel... I guess some visitors must stay overnight...

I hope to find it again in the near future when I can use another computer that allows me to use updated google..
that hopefully has links to various buildings..

WHAT MAKES YOU THINK GOOGLE HAS ACCESS TO AREA 51?

From what I had observed on most of the free online maps like google and bing maps in the past..

they do show some sort of map of Area 51...

in ref to what I am referring to with the hotel and various  written descriptions (when I had seen some descriptions in the past) on the Area 51 parts of the maps..... At one time it may had been possible to select written descriptions..

or some website related maps that use google have some how shown the descriptions...

OR GOOGLE  and other online map suppliers may now have removed the descriptions...

which is what I am trying to find out presently.


I MANAGED to look at my brothers I Phone  yesterday that had latest gppgle map on it... and I was NOT able to see any description at Area 51...   

So for the time being it  maybe that they have now removed descriptions..

and as I have said I cannot rcall the link that I saw the hoetl description on..

As far as I know, there's no such thing as the "latest Google map", as there's only one current version, either on the Google Maps site or the Google Earth application, as the images all come from the same server.

Initially I could not read the details until I magnified my webpage

I am pleased that someone eventually found such information...

I was wrong about it being Hilton.. but thought that it was a well known hotel..

and Holiday Inn is one of the well known hotels worldwide as far as I recall...

but th location is where I suspected that it was... ie further to the North West side of the main buildings area closer to the Mountains..and you can see many cars around the building..

Also Mc Donalds and Burger King.... I wonder if they sell  / or thought that they may have had a different chain offering Alien Burgers like that offer at the Little Alien in Rachel ! ...

NOW ... I wonder if any of us can enquire to stay there next time we visit the area..


So it was Google Earth... you found it and not google maps ! ...

If that was where I saw it for some reason I dont recall having used GE for some months...if not over 18 months ago...

I had thought that i come across it on google maps..but maybe  I was mistaken..and somehow must have use G.E...

from what you suggest..

looking at what Sgt found on G.E... would that suggest that you should also be able to see what Sgt posted on Google maps as well as the description being on Google Earth ... ?
