Well, I can say this;  The problems in the Bahamas and Puerto Rico have allowed China and Columbia to move their illegal drugs through those areas to mainland USA.  Columbia is mainly cocaine and China mainly Fentanyl.  You won't see it on the mainstream news.  I have a little birdy that told me this.  Also, the Emergency manager in Puerto Rico was fired because of the population finding warehouses full of Hurrican Maria supplies not distributed.

Drug countries use tragedies in other countries to move their illegal drugs through easier because the infrastructure and authorities have their attention drawn to the calamities.  Not theory, just fact.

Unfortunately that is all too true, Mav, and it's always about the money, for fast easy money helps those people turn a blind eye to things ...

A plane load of U.S. workers in China were flown out,
and instead of going to an airport they took them
to an Air Force base. More to come, but from the looks
of things they are going to be in quarantine.

Meanwhile, the price of 3M N85's went though the
roof over the weekend. I just wonder how many
of those masks are left over from the SARS episode.

My previous computer crashed and burned.  Literally.  Caught on fire and entire hard drive lost, including website addresses including here.  Up and running again, and now browsing the forum catching up.  Really shocked about Zorgon, what a nice guy.

Yes, I read CDC sequenced it and it is very similar to SARS and MERS,
both were corona virus from bats. As we all know, bats are very
diseased creatures.    Don't eat bat soup or fruit tainted by
fruit bats.

Here, one poor soul tried to leave the "voluntary"quarantine
and was hauled back. Involuntary? It appears so that it was
forced at that point.

One of the Americans evacuated from Wuhan, China, amid the coronavirus outbreak has been placed under quarantine after trying to leave March Air Reserve Base, where a chartered flight landed the previous day, Riverside County health officials said Thursday.

The approximately 200 American passengers on the plane were asked to remain at the military base so they could be monitored for symptoms of the virus, but the person tried to leave, prompting the quarantine order from Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser, officials said.

As a result, the traveler will be required to "stay for the entire incubation period or until otherwise cleared," according to a statement from the agency. The incubation period is two weeks.

Yeah, I read the news release yesterday on TWC about world health declaration, and it discussed the State department chartering that flight to haul 200 state dept peeps to March AFB, also the measures being taken in China and around the area as air travel is being greatly curtailed to and from Wuhan

I work for a Fortune 500 company.  Wednesday we received a broadcast email stating all employee business travel to Mainland China, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan is suspended until further notice.

Just read a brief where all international travelers inbound to the US are being funneled thru 7 major airports for screening for this new virus; Delta is curtailing then suspending all it's flights to China, and American is greatly reducing its flights also

The numbers of reported cases are increasing, approaching 10,000 in China with 200+ fatalities

In other countries they are also receiving flights with people brought back from China in military bases, Brize Norton in the UK, Istres in France and Germersheim in Germany.

Portugal has some 17 people in China waiting to come back. One Portuguese living in China refused to come back to Portugal, saying he feels safe where he is.

The 16 (not 17) Portuguese that were in China have returned to Portugal on a flight from China to France.
