Aircraft tracking website.

I recall in the past at sometime, that certain members had referred to Aircraft tracking websites.

I came across this one... but I am not sure if its a different one to what others may be aware of or have used.

Some it looks quite technical to know how to best make use of it.
and it shows aircraft at live times, BUT I wondered is anyone aware if you can check past time frames with such
websites.. or is that likely to require far too much data to be able to check past history of certain flights in
terms of their departure, flight path and arrival destinations.

or if maybe you can see some past history if say within the last 24 hrs or week or so..

There a FAQ section that does make a ref to suggesting that certain things to do with Dept and Arrival areas are not available.

BUT I wonder if one seen an aircraft fly over at a certain time if you could try to find it..

QuoteQ: Is there a way to see the departure and destination airport of the aircraft from flight plans?

A: No. flight departure and destination info is not broadcast by transponders nor does it fall within the mission of ADS-B Exchange. ADSBexchange.com may revisit this policy in the future. By analyzing flight paths, departure and destination airports will be obvious assuming sufficient coverage exists.

There are several sites like that, based on the ADS–B system aircraft use to know and broadcast their positions.

They do work in real time (I just confirmed with an Iberia flight shown as arriving at the Lisbon airport, as I looked out the window and saw it :) ), some store historical data for a few days (usually only available to registered members). That site shows the history for each aircraft, if you click the "+" sign next to the "History" label on the left panel, after selecting an aircraft.

I usually use FlightAware and Flightradar24.

For departures and arrivals it's better to look at the airport's sites, although some show that information.

PS: there's the same type of sites for ships, like Marine Traffic.

Thank you for your info and feedback ArMaP.

I will have to try to take a look at some of the other websites.
But it would be good if some could offer some past past data, and hopefully an ability to track some flights.

I observed a unusual looking object flying over to my house the other day initially at the back of it, about 12.15 am in the morning on one of the nights of what had been bad weather.. where there seemed a large clear gap in the sky, that the object was maybe brighter than I expected , and moving steadily but NO flashing lights what so ever. The object was then moving directly over my house at an ackward angle that I normally would not see any aircraft fly along such a path...  SO I then ran out to the front of the house with my binoculars and what should happen !

A HUGE area of CLOUD had occurred at the front of the house and I was never able to see the craft appear again.
>:(

I have seen a few past similar looking objects to this before but on different flight paths... where there do seem to be certain specific areas of the sky where I am familar with passing aircraft... BUT I have seen VERY few ever on this particular flight path...

As it happened the day before I had come across that website link that I referred to, and then decided to try to check and see if I could find any ref to it.. but it was 15 to 20 mins later...and I could only see one possible aircraft..heading along the flightpath that believed it to have been on. but when I checked which one it may had been.. I dont think it was that particular one...as it came up with a RYANAIR flight...and It was also quite a further distance away from what I had expected, although you can probably calculcate ,where it may had been as the speed of the aircraft was given..

So I am questioning what it may had been..
Over all in the UK during that time, there did not appear that many aircraft flying around at all especially with 100 miles of my location.....it seemed a very quiet period.

IF say it was some sort of Secret craft or a UFO... Would it be likely it would had shown up on such a website.
The website did suggest it includes Military craft as well.

I doubt any Alien craft would be using a location system used on Earth, so a "real" UFO wouldn't show on such a site, but most likely some secret projects do not use it either, as anyone with a receiver can detect the craft.
