Wish I Knew Why...

I love this place.  I think it's great!
Plenty to keep Me and fill My plate.
Alpha and Tango and Spookz goodbye!
Yet here I have to wonder why
I see my treasure of cherished gold
Building high (and never sold)
Yet the reason I'm thusly paid,
Posts upon which payment made
Ever remain a mystery.
I offered something; I cannot see
Which something prompted a gilded sum.
What words warrant a princely crumb?

[smile]  I wish I knew which posts are being appreciated.  I will say that was the one thing I liked better at Alpha et al.

Very nice poem!

I too wish there was some way to applaud you for
certain posts. I can give you "gold" and then your
"gold" number goes up.

However, one might never know how that Gold came about,
or who it was from. There does seem to be a certain
drive that comes from the visual reward. 

This has been discussed, along with a few other things
that we all would like. Time is the factor. So thank you
for your patience!

If one likes a post enough to give gold to the poster, wouldn't a pm of notification be possible?  It doesn't completely address the question of where the gold comes from, as it's voluntary, but it's a thought.

My only issue with that is that it takes a LOT more effort.  And others cannot see which posts are highly appreciated...  I liked that over at Alpha.  Posts that are highly "decorated" usually were the ones that contained good information and worth some time spent reading deeply.
