I don't understand, does Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V work, doing a copy and a paste, respectively?

No, nothing Keyboard command works with mouse functions, it is really a bad case scenario, have the reboot to use, and can't even pull up DOS command prompt for recovery diskette.

Cannot do anything when in the IE programs. Can't even erase my old PM's here at PRC, Can't attach files or anything that is necessary for logical sharing. Pisses me off for sure.

See if you can go to this site and click on the "Download" on the last sentence of the second paragraph.

That program will show you if there's some program blocking the use of the clipboard.

Sorry to do this guys but....

Bill, would you please install Firefox or Opera.  It could be a malware interacting with internet explorer.  It probably isn't but it's worth a try surely?

QuoteOne thing I may add, I can cut in paste with in my home screen area, but once I access the internet, it no longer works and no longer can run right click operations via mouse, this is not an issue of the Control Panel, because there are no internet options available there, just as my whole format has changed for the Internet Explorer Icon, I can't even cut from Home area and paste with in IE so, may have to go to the Doctor after all.

Frustrating to say the Least......

Ahhh ok...let's try resetting your browser settings. In IE8 you need to access your internet properties screen...do this by hitting the RESET button on this screen in your internet properties.

Then check if your disk is defragmented...

Open "My Computer" and right click on the drive containing your operating system (Assuming you can do this without browser open).
- Then select PROPERTIES
- Select the TOOLS tab at the top
- Hit the DEFRAGMENT NOW button

Analyze the drive containing the operating system.. it will look like something like this:

Notice all the RED lines...these are FRAGMENTED FILES which will cause glitches, freezes and general chaos in your machine.

IF IT LOOKS LIKE THE NEXT ONE YOU GOT ISSUES...

DEFRAGMENT the PC so that your files are restored in proper sequence. When completed your drive should look more like this...

As a rule I do this approx every 2 weeks...if 1 red line is there it is too many for me. It only takes 1 fragmented file to cause an issue.

I do have some RED lines, an dhte systems Analyze said it didn't need to be Defragged, am doing it any way right now. I have used this method before, it really didn't fix the Mouse issues at all, but do try to keep disk space cleaned up.

Will have to wait and see. On my Defrag page, it only shows C: as NTSF file capacity is at 37.24GB have approximately 13.66GB Free Space and over all 36% of total Space available before Defragging.

Do appreciate all you folks helping, thanks so much. ;)

I had Firefox loaded or tried to DL it, it created issues from firewall settings with in my OTC Virus protection, also tried Chrome as a different approach, never DL correctly, also had firewall issues, but never caused so many issues as this seems to be causing. Might have to try it again PIM, thanks for the heads up on the options my friend!! ;)

OK .....

Ellirium- Defragged and viewed reports, nothing major came to my eyes. I still have no access to the IE properties, this is one of the issues I was initially having with in Control Panel, don't even have setting's with in HID mouse settings for rectifying this either. SO, same old same old.

ArMap- Went to the website, clicked the area you recommended, from the beginning of all this, and for some strange reason, the "RUN" and "Download" click buttons do nothing, this has happened to me before on the Dell and MS websites for upgrading, so it seems I can't even DL directly any more by click operations on any DLable link.

Pimander- Will not take and or accept the DL for Firefox,Opera or Chrome. I have no idea why this is, but when I tried before, it started loading then gave me an alert of incomplete due to sys error blah blah blah.

I am so sorry for all the time you are all putting into this for me, it is truly appreciated, but, as Pim had stated "What a mess" LOL :P

There is Networking programs on my PC that I did not activate or DL, I am positive that Remote is turned off, so don't think it was a hack job, was something I must have picked up somewhere on the WWW.

If I can't get this done myself, will have to wait and get it fixed by the pros's and spend some $ I guess. Really sucks for me not being able to supply information via the PRC forums, I have quite a bit I want to share with in the Inventors group and with forums in General, doesn't look as if that is going to happen any time soon, not the way that it is going thus far.  :-\

So, will have to wait and see I guess, unless there is something I have revealed here that makes sense too any of you for the problems? LOL :P

Very strange indeed...got me scratching my head.  :-\

I use Spybot Search and destroy to get rid of nasties my antivirus doesn't find.

http://www.safer-networking.org/mirrors/

This snoops out trojans, keyloggers...the whole 9 yards. It also comes with a registry locker so that any offending programs need your permission to write to the registry. I have used this for many years and it has served me well.

It looks like you have a malware issue mate.

If you have updated your antivirus and antispyware software and run them AND your system is STILL deteriorating then it is faulty or malicious software.  You have no choice but to wipe hard drive if I'm right.....

It is the fact that functions on your system are dropping out one by one that makes me suspicious it is likely malware.  Is there anything stored on you HD that you can't live without?  If so you could store it on a cloud site?

Do you only have one harddrive?  If you have a second drive, switch that to c drive and load a clean copy of xp on that.  That way you will have the OS on one drive and then can clean up the original

I always run my OS on its own drive and the data is on a separate drive

If you do that and still have issues with the fresh copy of windows that its a physical issue on the board

I checked the Registry for Maleware and anti virus Pim, there was no red flags so too speak, but I did notice that my updates for scanning were set at every 7 days, I had had it set for every time PC was turned on, so, not sure what too make of that for now. Reset it for the previous though, every time PC is turned on. ;) Maybe a little too late though....LOL  ::)

Yes, this is why I went into registry too see if something caught my eye, unfortunately, was nothing there. As for the loss of functions one by one, that isn't really the case. When this first started, I couldn't even get logged on to the PC. I then went through OS and rectified by restoring to an early date or time, this worked to get me back on, bu the issues started back in January , 12TH, to be exact after having to get a newer browser version of Internet Explorer for Inception Radio Network. This was something that really started the issues. I have since then gone and cleaned those things up, but with the Inception Radio thing, you had to log in or on Twitter account, now Twitter says that I signed up as an App, not a PC user, still haven't heard anything from them as of yet, but am working on it.
When I am on the NET, my tool bar does not show my "Fav's" available and can't un-collapse the venue for the information stored there, I cannot access click link accounts for such things as DL and direct view. The address bar allows me to cut but I cannot paste from cut, not even with in the home screen, but with in the Home screen, right click functions work normally, I can create PDF withimages from personal files, but can't attach such files with Email or share with in Forums or chat areas as you already know.
I have strong confidence it is either in the setting's being reconfigured or it is with in the HD program files that I can't allocate for removal. I have no MSDOS for formatting on reboot option, and when I do click in safe mode, it pulls up a whole slew of C: registries that are NTSF and Networking gibberish. I have Networking available on my PC, but I never activated it, I never have my Remote to share on, and have checked that every time I log onto the PC because of what had happened with "Z" and the Skype thing, so very vigilant about that any more. ;)
Not sure what too make of it thus far. Just frustrating, too say the least. Have stuff I want to discuss that I have researched, requires me to be able to post Videos, Pic's and quoted Text for extrapolation on these finds and research. Bum's me out for sure. >:( >:(

QuoteIt is the fact that functions on your system are dropping out one by one that makes me suspicious it is likely malware.  Is there anything stored on you HD that you can't live without?  If so you could store it on a cloud site?

If it is Maleware Pim, I suppose I can contact Dell or Vipre (Virus Protection Software) for further assistance, but I feel it is something that I did too cause this with either IE8 or IRN/Twitter account registry that I can't find from my end. Like I had said, twitter has me registered as App. when I am PC, so may be creating issues for me as well.

I am going to try and back up all my Doc's/Pic's and Vid's to CD-ROM's and format my HD, but am having issues with that as well. PC doctor is sounding the safest and most practical way to go, but don't have the funds right now too do that. Sure you understand my friend.

P.S.Zorgon
I have a single HD system My friend, have other HD laying around, just never really had the need to have more than one HD on my System, try to keep this one clean, though having multiple ones may have been the way to go, that is if I can figure out how to connect another HD to my PC... They are all different Manufacturer's!! ::)
:-[ :P LOL

If you back up and reinstall, bear in mind that the malware can hide in your backed up data (if I'm right and it is malware).
