I know this is not something new! But, does this concern any of the U.S. citizens here besides me? $2 billion + per years for free cell phones and free service to various and sundry low income people is absolutely ludicrous, in my opinion.

Free phone service. along with the food stamps, and along with medicaid free health care, and along with free "head start", and along with free WIC - - - no wonder more people are trying to climb upon this gravy train. And I suppose somewhere in this "illegal aliens" are also probably getting on the bandwagon too.

WE must get this stopped, along with many of the other "freebies", that are driving cost to all "taxpayers" out of sight.

Even the small stuff can really add up, with the debt and budget problems this country faces.

Do you want to know how much has to be spent each day, for $2.1 billion per year. Well, if I calculate right, for a 365 day year, it would be about $6,000,000 (millions) being spent for each and every day of the year, for all of this "free phone service".

Phone service, while we may think so, it is not an absolute necessity for anyone, especially for people who cannot afford to have it! We need to get a grip, and get things straightened out, while we still can.

Amaterasu

Just saw this...  I am going to say...  I would not have a phone for employers to call Me if I was not receiving a free phone.  And I tell You, though They are not hiring Me, some few ARE calling.

And I can call THEM.  Without this phone, I would have no way to contact employers nor Them Me.  I have no money at all.  None.  Zero.  Nada.  Pay phones are out of the question.

So I am very grateful I have a phone.
