hey ArMaP  this one's for you - for obvious reasons..bwhahahahah

Portugal. The Man - Feel It Still (Live Stripped Down Session)
Interesting name, but I don't like much that type of music.

Because of their name I decided to post some music from people/bands connected to Portugal in some way, starting with Journey's "Don't stop believin'".

The singer, Steve Perry, has Portuguese descent from both the father (originally named Pereira, meaning "pear tree") and mother sides.

Another Perry. :)

Anthony Joseph Pereira, better known as Joe Perry is Aerosmith's lead guitar player, and his father was from the Madeira island.

This was performed in one take, live from memory.

This one will be meaningless for the non-Portuguese people, but this week the founder and rhythm guitar player from the Portuguese band Xutos & Pontapés died at the age of 61, victim of hepatitis C and a debilitating body, resulting from alcohol and drug abuse in his younger years.

Xutos & Pontapés are one of the biggest Rock & Roll bands in Portugal, and their influence in Portuguese society was recognised when they were awarded an honorific order, Order of Merit, in 2004.

RIP, Zé Pedro. :(

On a lighter note, and continuing with the "people/bands connected to Portugal in some way" topic, here's another "Perry". :)

Linda Perry become known as the singer and guitar player from 4 Non Blonds, but while the band disappeared from the public view she never stopped working as musician, song writer and producer, being connected to several popular songs from other artists, like "Get the Party Started" from Pink and "Beautiful" from Christina Aguilera, both written and produced by Linda Perry.

The connect to Portugal is both direct and indirect, as her mother is Brazilian and her father is Portuguese. :)

More of my "people/bands connected to Portugal in some way" topic. :)

There's another "Perry", Katy Perry, that got her "Perry" from her mother, originally from the Azores, but I don't know any Katyy Perry song, so I will not post any.

Instead, I will post a video from a Canadian-Portuguese singer, Nelly Furtado.

Nelly's parents are Portuguese (from the Azores, as most Portuguese immigrants in Canada and in the US), but she was born in Canada.

I have one connected to Portugal that i love too:

What a nice touch Carminho gives to this song. Marisa Monte as always :)
"Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."

An interruption in my "related to Portugal" series to post a song that I posted before, but it's one of my favourites and related to forums like this. ;)
