O-SPAN : [Classified] Bill Defends Against Flesh-Eating [Classified]

Rep. John Haller (R-PA) introduces a bill that will allocate (classified) dollars over the next (classified) years to fight flesh-eating (classified).

Ha!  That was good.

But here is another odd thing.

Nobel laureate economist Paul Krugman repeated his assertion this week that the United States could benefit economically if the government began pouring money into anti-ET defense in preparation for a possible alien invasion of Earth.

Why would a Nobel laureate be saying things like this?  Is there more to this?

"Any aliens that have the capability to come here and ruin our whole day by vaporizing Earth or terrorizing its hominid inhabitants, would be centuries -- perhaps millennia -- beyond our technical level. To spend effort preparing for such a lugubrious possibility would be like the Neanderthals organizing their society to defend themselves against the U.S. Air Force. That won't do them much good on the battlefield. But who's to say? Maybe it would improve the Neanderthal economy." -- Seth Shostak, a senior astronomer at the SETI Institute and chair of the International Academy of Astronautics' SETI Permanent Committee

So, now an ET invasion would be good for the economy?  We MUST be in bad shape!  Is there some other agenda at work here?
And you may ask yourself
Well...How did I get here?

Ya know Cosmo, he isnt that far off from reality there!

Think about what a proposed Alien defense initiative would do...

1:Massive building of Satellite monitoring stations, replete with preemptive beam weapons and such...serious manpower and new technology efforts required!

2: Massive ground based initiative with new bases featuring optical and EM sensor arrays for early warning, employing maybe millions of low and medium tech people, along with many underemployed physicists.

3: Alternative energy networks, to place everything used for energy infrastructure underground, and to solidify the military's ability to generate power during either an attack or shift in power systems caused by Alien EM interference.

4: A common goal for humanity, instead of competing with the Joneses like the yuppy materialists, or downtrodden poor folks having four or five babies to bolster the pockets with welfare money of people who refuse to become gainfully employed; a job for all, and a real reason to go to work everyday, besides cigarette and beer money.

It might be quite the change for the world, but as he points out, it would definitely give humanity a sense of urgency and purpose beyond the pathetic reasons to exist we have today.

And it would "forcefully" employ millions who would be sitting on their arses making babies instead of doing something to help their fellow man.

Ya want a welfare check? Get of yer arse and help build some concrete bases for our giant antenna arrays folks!

Ya want a new Escalade for the family? Design a real NEW particle beam weapon!

Ya want to survive? Volunteer for Military duty and have a hand in repelling whatever Alien attack theyve said was coming...although you wont have to fight one iota, because its all made up!

Cheers to the Alien Invasion, Cosmo! Im ready!

Funny how there seems to be a mindset that an alien invasion would be good for the "ECONOMY".  ::) This would be the mindset of a globalist that only cares about the markets. Where is there a war torn area that is prospering economically? This boost to the economy would be utterly pointless if faced with an eminent threat such as an alien invasion. Unless of course it was quite manageable or even staged.  :P
