today on the talk they showed a 77 year old woman being arrested for not showing her dl and insurance.she had been pulled over for speeding . she said she needed to pee.
all caught on video and portrayed to the world.
i believe the media is trying to condition us for more of a police state.
i also saw something similar on the view the other day.
what can be done to end the media manipulating public?
is there a peaceful solution?

I believe every state in the US has 'Stop and identify" statutes that allow police, for reason, to stop and request identification of you.  If you do not they may arrest you.  In her case, the reason she was stopped was due to a moving violation, which very specifically gave the police reason to stop her.  More specifically, many states also have DOT laws in which a drivers license must be presented if requested of a driver.

Her refusing to identify herself under a lawful stop, as a driver of a vehicle, by a LEO, was just begging to be arrested.
Time is the fire in which we burn.

i personally believe this was an emergency and in an emergency ,in texas ,no dl or insurance is required in an emergency vehicle.the vehicle she is in ,is the emergency vehicle.she should have had a police escort to the proper facilities or offered a ride.

that is so easy..

turn off the idiot box
turn off the sound of idiots

go walk in the woods and meditate to know yourself better

know the difference in what you need and what you have been told you want

if moving the masses was as easy as turning water into wine and happened as quickly.

The lady in the video sealed her fate when the officer told her to "either give him her D/L or she will be arrested" and she responded  ,   " go ahead " .

It was all over but the crying then .  I understand what she was trying to do but the world is not like that anymore , you can't tell a cop a story when you are pulled over , not until they run your info . Once they know who you are then you can talk  all you want, not that it will make any difference . Never did for me anyway, but I am not 77 years old either.

She might have got a break had she followed instructions ,but that is water over the dam now .

Otter makes a good point.  Besides, if you're in the woods, you can find a tree.   I was accused of driving erratically back in January.  I had a dental infection that was fouling my balance.  In my case though, the officer came over to my parked car and started accusing me of driving drunk on the highway.  I hadn't even been on the highway, and I couldn't remember when I had last had a drink.  I think he had the idea that I was parked there to make a drug deal.  He kind of deflated when I explained that I was picking up my hubby from work.  We handed over ID, answered questions, and in general ruined the kid's big important case.

As for public facilities, Colorado just closed up two rest areas on the interstates due to lack of funding for cleaning and maintenance.

I meant to say that a story never got me out of a ticket ,not a speeding ticket when they have you on radar. You can tell your story to the judge at traffic court, but  the arresting officer usually does not care about your reasons for speeding, just who you are and if you have any outstanding warrants.
