Heres a video from a guy in Panama City, Fl at the Home Depot there indicating something which requires a great deal of portable power is about to take place...

Just a thought..about sinkholes and Fema command centers...

I wonder whether there are depots full of these in every state or is New Orleans a special case?

I went to mine about an hour ago, and they dont have any generators aside from the little 1000 watt models..they are sold out for now...Hmmm sold out, or shipped out I wonder?
A quick call to the Home Depot on the other side of town verified they have no big generators, just little ones like the 1000.

Noone could tell me if they were sent away, or theyre just out of them, but seeing how its hurricane season here, Im surprised there arent dozens of them in stock.

The video is from Panama City ,Fl, about four hours from Nawlins, so theyre pretty close when needed.

Id bet a trip to nearly all the Home Depot's in some area will find a shortage of generators, too.

Somebody is going to need some temp power soon...wonder who?

Yea,usually they will stock up on generators plywood and other items when there is a hurricane coming.

But those little generators are for home use.

I would be keeping an eye out for trailers that are generators, especially the green ones!

That would be the types of generators I'm talking about.

Littleenki

I would think these are for small mobile command posts..the big trailers cant be towed through rubble and downdd trees.the littleones can be dropped off and setup quickly and easily by one person.

Yes I said rubble...oh nooooo!

As Amy said..somethings afoot!

Lol lol lol.... Sorry guys but there is nothing unusual about re-stocking your inventory after a storm.. They always sell out and they always re-stock. After Katrina there has been a strong need for home generators because people don't want to evacuate and go through what they went through.. Nothing fishy here guys.

Pi, there are 5 different home depots close to me that I frequent on a very regular basis getting supplies for different jobs; after seeing this, it occurs to me that all I have seen of late are the small 1000 watt models; generally, this time of year, here in Georgia at least, there are always several different sizes and models/manufacturers to choose from...

These are all for home use, that's all. With the power problems down here and Entergy's poor response, people want to be prepared.

I am willing to take your assessment of this, Rock; still, I am now curious as to why the stores here have so few... it is a bit of a drive to the gulf coast from here, and definitely not in the hurricane zone...

Usually there is a run on the before a storm, then after because people don't maintain then during the year and they break down. Then we have people that are tired of evacuating. As to why there are more in one area than others, I guess you'd have to ask the inventory schedulers. :)

I saw a truck today, north of Dallas, and going west, that had 4ea (I think). green four-wheeled large-box generators (I think) on a flat-bed. They were not covered, had a short exhaust stack (I think) on top, with a flapper, and two or three large air inlets/outlets (I think) on the side. These had no appearance of being large A/C compressors

While there likely is nothing unusual here, I specifically noticed them, as I had not seen these like this before. They probably were roughly about 5ft wide, 6 ft tall, and 8 ft long, and were painted green, of course.

Hurricane season generally spans the period of June 1 thru November 30. I would be a little surprised if stores are significantly "stocking" for a hurricane this late in the season. Of course, people are always preparing all year long, if they are in the typical "path'" areas.

Of course, on a forum like this, I am a little surprised that nothing has been suggested for the possibility for a known (by someone) threat external to the planet - asteroid, alien activity/Nibiru/Planet X, etc, etc!

Of course, then there is always the possible threat of earthquakes. FYI, there have been today, seven 5.0+ earthquakes in various parts of the world. Here is a link LE (or someone) posted several weeks ago, where one can view the earthquakes, locations, sizes over a period of time. They are color coded and sized for easy recognition.

One point I would make - - - if generators et al are being staged for emergencies, I seriously doubt that the staging will take place anywhere close to the anticipated point of impact/happenstance. We certainly would not want the emergency prep to be a victim to the disaster!!

Just thinking out loud!!  :o :o

Usually if there is an inkling of 'something', the SPR is always ready for emergency drawdowns. We practice all the time and run scenairos all the time. Nothing on the foreseeable future. But ya never know!

we are in pa. and really far from florida and the gulf storms .lol..but every time they get a storm and need to board up..we can't find plywood anywhere...then after a month or so plywood..at a much higher price
the only conspiracy is profit..no one wants to carry inventory anymore

guys..really..!!..i think this guy is getting his exercise jumping to conclusions..or maybe he just needs some attention
sigh

the generators..especially the large house ones or for commercial..they are a hot item right now
anyone who can afford one is ordering
i.e.  fire companies , emt places, etc..
..folks are less and less trusting of the utilites  getting them back on line after a spurt of bad weather and when they need to care for others they are trying to be prepared
..try to order one and see what they tell ya.. ::)

it's a business for profit..

at leaset that has been my observation so far

went and looked up the guy 's channel..and wow..he's a real happy camper
check it out for yourself

...........................................

just looked it up there are 17 home depots in the n o area.. if each store only got a few
there wouldn't be enough in this video to stock them all

just sayin... :P
