And I seem to be the baby here, at three years younger than Ameraterasu...

This gold thing I do not understand. Can I only give them one at a time? I assume they are a way of commending someone's posts, and having read the quality of some posts I simply do not understand how I have so many, hence my wish to give it back a little faster. and whilst I am asking questions, how do the stars work? IS it just chronological or is tehre another mechanism at play. I did take a bit of a shufti round the site in a half hearted effort to answer my own question, before asking...

You can normally only give one to a member then have to wait before giving more.  There are different settings for Global Mods and I suspect one has been a little over-generous with a few members.

Well, in my case they have just given me some hard work to give them away, until I get back to the single digits which in my wildest moments of hubris I actually believe I MAY deserve... But I am grateful that someone liked something I did, and take it as an indication that I am on the right track at least occasionally.
