American Kabuki posted two stories about huge ammo dumps in the US and Russia blowing up within days of each other.  ATS mentions the Louisiana explosion and strange stories about what caused it.

I just got banned from GLP when I reported this stuff. (no kidding)

Weird things are happening.  All KINDS of rumors flying on the explosions!

As for GLP...  Heh.  Better keep M'mouth closed.  LOL!

Another one, eh Ottawa Rogue? Wow, it seems that someone is having a bad karma experience, and perhaps this is a sign of things to come, eh?

I heard the story about a meteor being responsible for the one near Robomont, wouldnt that be a trip...remember the meteors that suppsedly started the fires in Colorado earlier this year?

Damn, I shouldve gotten a meteorology degree, I might understand this stuff more... :o

Cheers!

Bizarre behavior in drone weapons.  Is there a pattern developing here?  I thought John Kettler was nuts when he reported weirdness in drone systems.  Maybe he was correct.

Interesting.  Does this remind anyone of anything? ;)

There's a difference between desiring the use of robotics, and desiring the attempted development of human level artificial intelligence.  Most of the people designing these systems are arrogant fools, to put it bluntly.  Good software design adheres to universal law to the same extent as anything else.  If, however, you have systems which are designed by psychopaths, then the result can be nothing other than psychopathic itself.

In other words, robots themselves are not the problem.  Robots designed by evil, arrogant, warmongering people who have no business working in that area in the first place, are the problem.  There is a reason why, more than anything else, robots should never be used in anything remotely resembling a military context; and that is because a robot is a force multiplier.  Anything that a human can do, a robot can amplify.

If we do not want to court suicide, then robotics and war as general concepts, must be recognised as being mutually exclusive.  War in the context of two individuals settling their differences with swords, is developmentally legitimate, if still undesirable.  War in the context of nuclear weapons which can potentially destroy the entire species, or robots which can do the same, is not.

Before you would condemn robotics as a whole, Pimander, I would encourage you to read Eric Raymond's book, The Art of UNIX Programming.  When you have done so, I would then invite you to reconsider the question of whether robotics as an entire branch of science needs to be done away with, or whether instead, we simply have to ensure that psychopaths are not permitted to take part in the process.

I am an advocate of the use and development of robots.  I am also, however, an advocate of (as one example) the deranged animal which was depicted as having created the robot David in the film Artificial Intelligence, being executed in a public, brutal, and decidedly inhumane manner.

I am intrigued by Kurzweil's opinion that robots promise a deeper interest in ethics by people because they will have to program such into these systems.

There was also a LOT of weirdness reported about the F-22.  Are ET's going beyond screwing with nukes?

arent we just advanced organic robots with customizable programming?
should we be mad at our creator?ie. our parents.

I suspect that Jung is way more connected to stuff on this forum than siggy.

May I point out that drones are designed - and equipped! - to kill.  BIG diff from a robot that cleans the bathroom.
