Free energy means the military will have more money left over for more weapons

Free energy means anyone can make scalar weapons... If Tesla could do it in his day in a garage, so can any punk geek kid on the block :D

Everything has it's down side :P

If we get free energy then I can have a light sabre and hoverboard.   8)

We don't see European nations arming themselves, motivated by Liebenstraum.  Eventually, people get enough neat stuff and war becomes obsolete.

I truly believe that the future of mankind will be threatened, not by any scarcity, but by too much abundance.  Wanna play video games all day?  Want all the porn you could ever watch?  Good tasting food? Not have to work? Be 'high' all the time?

OK, are you going to bother to reproduce and then raise kids? No? Why not?

Why have kids?

I haven't and probably won't now.  I have freedom most only dream of.   8)

Exactly, if free energy gets out internationally, dont ever think everyone would suddenly become docile..they would be more likely to build even more extreme weapons!

Down side majeur!

Agreed, Pim, after watching numerous friends suffer after being shoved into parenthood by zealous baby loving family members, Ill pass on the stinky little buggers! Of course they could be put to good use like they do in the 3rd world.

Some of my friends enjoy kids who arent too much trouble, but the suffering Ive watched most endure is enough to make one ask themselves...do I really want to go through that, and then bring another life into a world of insanity?

And hey, my Ice cream is still in my freezer when I go to look for it!LOL!

The human species Strains at a gnat,  and swallows a camel !   :o   :(

Retreat a few million Km, and you can't even see the earth with the naked eye...  :D

It is as though the Earth doesn't even exist !  :-*

There are more important things to do, than to play games against LIFE.

Instead get to Know your Real selves or LIFE rather than the "Flesh" !

At present most are a "SLAVE" to / of their "Flesh" !   :o

When you come to know your Real selves, a "Partition" of LIFE, then and ONLY then,
ALL your problems will disappear !

The Problems only exist, because the human species is at WAR against LIFE !   :(

There are too many people being born.  There are too many people who are bad parents.  I think I would be an OK parent but that is not good enought for any child of mine so I won't be indulging.

And yes, I love playing snooker and pool, doing a research degree that brings in little money in my late thirties, going out for the weekend with no pets or children to worry about, travelling and much more.  I can get a job offer the other side of the world tomorrow and leave on the first plane.  I love my freedom and know I have made the right choice for me.  Yes, it really is this cool to not have kids. :P

Glad to see you in your comfort zone. I on the other hand have 5 kids, all grown and 4, soon to be 5 grandkids. Children bring heartache, sleepless nights, monetary drain and freedom zapping time constraints. But there is nothing, I mean nothing that compares to the feeling on hearing that word 'Daddy' or 'PawPaw...I wouldn't trade my life with my children and grandchildren for all the money and freedom in the world. To each his own... ;D

Agreed.

I think that some people are great parents.  Too many are not though.  I'd never say never but for me there is no greater feeling than being the first person ever to do or observe a thing - a different sense of discovery that is the food of a pioneering scientist.

I have heard that for every 100 grandparents in Greece, there are 40 grandkids.  Japan is canceling fertility  festivals that go way back.

How do you borrow from a future generation that was never born? Many Western nations are about to find out they can't.

I just read today that there is a move to demand nuclear transparency from Israel by the UN.  The Zionists haven't caught on to their bleak future - and the US is slowly drifting away from their support.
