Yes perhaps, they -might- be.
However none of the reports mention conventional craft.

They are all round silver metallic discs, meaning that regardless of propulsion, they have no control surfaces.
No means of guiding or turning the areroform.

And with 'exceptionally quick' ones these surfaces become even more important.

Also, many of the reports are from trained witnesses who gauged their speed as accurately as they could. Even with a margin of error, these speeds go WAY beyond the pale of earthly technology.

We also have a theodolite recording showing 15,000 MPH. So our trained observers estimates ranging from 1200 to 3500 mph were if anything, conservative.

The rest of of our observers seemed to second that motion, with various colorful descriptors such as
'going like a bat out of hell',
'terrific speed',
'incredible',
'hurtling through the air', etc., all designed to clearly get the point across that these were something completely new.

That's what drew my attention to the report above....

There is no way this is a conventional craft from that period, or even current technology. This jagged zigzagging at high speed would likely kill the pilot as a result of the physical forces exerted on his/her body.

Precisely. Not to mention the craft itself.

More examples of these impossible seeming movements would raise some fascinating questions.

I think I have a few more examples of those lying around somewhere.

I have also seen examples of objects doing 90 degree turns and stopping dead from high speeds.
Did the newspapers in that locality report many such examples?

I will sort out a list.

The possibility of craft not originating from Earthly technology coupled with suspiciously high air accident reports right where the most sensitive military tests on Earth were being conducted is intriguing to say the least.

They were heading north, but seven of the discs then reversed direction and came back over them toward the south.

As it reached a point just above and ahead of the car, "it suddenly veered off sharply to the right, and at the same time its companion did likewise."

The objects then disappeared to the south in a matter of seconds.

The undersides of the objects appeared to reflect the city lights. As they passed over, the Walgren's described hearing "a hollow, rustling sound, like an air blast in an empty barrel."

July 7 - ...passing overhead appeared to be flying at a speed of 600 to 700 miles an hour, at an estimated altitude of 10,000 feet.

The disc was flying on edge, like a wheel, at right angles to the surface of the earth, and its large, circular surface gave off an extremely bright light, comparable in color to the light of an arc welder's torch;

It also reminded the witness of a brightly faceted stone, such as a diamond seen under a brilliant light.

The object seemed to be following the contours of the terrain below it, dipping or bobbing up and down in an irregular pattern as it passed over small hills and mountains 500 to 1,000 feet high.

It was in view approximately 60 to 70 seconds.

July 28 - ...going toward the northwest at very high speed ...it appeared to be "weaving," as if "it were going through choppy air" and "going like hell when it disappeared."

Both men watched it vanish from view and agreed that they had never seen such a thing before. They also felt certain what they saw could not have been an aircraft.

July 29 - ...flew three to four times the apparent speed of a P-80 jet fighter also in sight, The P-80 flew in excess of 250 miles per hour as the unknowns proceeded to pass by the jet "as if it was standing still."

One object flew straight and level, a second object then appeared, flying a left to right "protective" maneuver from side-to-side like an escort fighter over the first craft.



Lieutenant Stewart piloted B-29 bombers during the war and had considerable experience as a flyer. He conveyed authority to Intelligence officers when questioned, stating that the objects were "unlike any conventional type of aircraft he had ever seen."

Oh and a postscript for the Unusual Movements, just to be thorough -


July 4 1947 - Seattle, Washington

I happened to look up and saw a bright, oval-shaped object coming down from the upper atmosphere.

There was no sound of motors. The object had no wings.

The object made a very sharp almost 90-degree turn to the horizontal and then sped south along Puget Sound at high speed and towards Mt. St. Helens.

If one takes the time...they can find statements made by General Eisenhour prior to his election to President....that document his own encounters and statements about E.T. craft. Once he became President...he quickly formed a comittee...which then became an agency....which delt with all that is E.T.

Eisenhour loathed Truman and had made many attempts to get Truman to form this agency prior to his election. Back then...there was not a clear methodology used in any UFO coverup or recovery. There is much to read.

This subject has interested me for a long time. And since my main industry was electronics it became clear the inventions such as the transistor weren't accidents but rather a product of something that had to happen to speed the development of such devices. So if you were a good detective and started piecing togetther the evidence it would become clear that something out of the ordinary had occurred. If you watched any of the episodes of ancient aliens then you would find even more mysterious clues to add to the puzzle. I guess my point is we have been brain washed to believe whatever were told to be the truth, but who really knows what that truth is? Even the Holy bible is full of contradictory stories that in today's world would have been reported totally different. Yes those in the electronics field realize what the state of the art was in 1947. They also realize that those trying to say that 1947 technology could have produced these speeds and maneuvers is a -complete joke- and not even remotely possible.

I was curious about the previous sighting where a Flying Saucer was seen over the Hanford plutonium production plant around the same time as our first Atomic test blast at White Sands, which was described as "the size of three aircraft carriers side by side."

I started doing some photo comparisons to get a better idea of what that would look like, and found that this:




would be the size of just ONE aircraft carrier.

Imagine a Disc THREE TIMES that size appearing over a football game!!

This very interesting article came to me marked 'Roswell Morning Dispatch - July 11 1947'.

I am unable to find the entire article or confirm the date or newspaper. The article does mention Roswell as a local item however.

If anyone has access to the full article and could send it along, that would be great! 

I am specifically looking for a scan of the original article, and if possible the cover of the newspaper.


Reason being as you can see, the text version below is much shorter and differs slightly in wording and details from the scanned version above.

For example, there is no mention of Tuesday in the text version which helpfully puts the date of this sighting on the 8th.

I suspect there may be even more details in the original version which would be of interest.

-- W.J. Schanz, a former Army Air Force instructor in aircraft recognition, and 5 others were baffled by three brilliant objects seen flashing across the sky.

Harvey Sparkman was the first to spot the objects after the others had been kidding around over the recent announced finding in Roswell of the so-called "Flying Saucer."

First there was one object followed by two others. Schanz said he had seen every type of plane in existence and "the objects did not have any characteristics of any plane I have ever seen.

They did not seem exactly round, and rather than spinning through space, they appeared to somersault, with no definite pattern of movement." They were traveling very fast, though their speed couldn't be estimated.

When they reflected the sun's rays, they were so bright it was difficult to look directly at them. Other witnesses were Mrs. Raymond Jennings, Ed Jennings, Lawrence Jennings, and Linzy Andrews, all of the Jennings Fixture Co.
