Now here is a rather telling declassified document I found in the USAF Project Blue Book:




We can see it was prepared by:
The Commanding General (4rth AF) at Hamilton Field, (California)

and sent to:
The Commanding General, Army Air Forces, (Washington, D.C.)

"in compliance with letter from: Headquarters Air Defense Command"
(Mitchel Field, New York).


And what was attached to this report, as indicated, are actual -hand typed verbatim copies- (not copies of the clippings or the clippings themselves) of the flying disc newspaper reports from my home town (in Oregon), the ones shown earlier in this thread with the headlines -

PORTLAND POLICE SEE DISCS SAIL

Also attached are in- depth, follow- up interviews conducted privately by unknown personnel, with each of the officers and the harbor- master listed in the articles.


All of which indicates what was to be done (discreetly), as laid out in the "letter" referenced above,
as ordered by - Headquarters Air Defense Command (New York).

Has anyone seen this letter?

The dates shown, and also the designation -Army Air Forces- clearly indicate that this is -just before- the Truman total restructuring of the entire military, and secret service organizations.

Now did this "letter" contain a Directive, or a personal request (unlikely), as to how to deal with sighting reports and investigations. How many other units or departments also received this "letter"?

Odd that he would not reference a Directive number that he was responding to. And how many other reports did Army Air Forces, Washington, D.C. also receive from various days and locations as a result of this "letter".

Or was this a method to discreetly subvert the official chain of command, perhaps even on orders from the top, considering the fear that these things might originate from Russia.

And who did these guys take their marching orders from? Did the buck stop there at Air Defense Command in that period? And what happened to the pipeline after the restructure order.


Major Keyhoe also seemed to be wondering these same questions, as evidenced by a couple of his chapter titles:

"Saucer Saucer, Who's Got The Saucer?"

and

"Why doesn't one of the damn things just land in the water so the Navy can take over!"

He and his contacts in the Pentagon seemed puzzled about who was truly -in charge- of the UFO situation during this period, followed by the sudden change of attitude and "silence from the top" regarding the urgent need to discover what these things really were, that happened coincidentally right around the same time of the Roswell "incident".

You truly are an asset to this forum! keep up the great work, it's so well written and researched.I have read the book the day before roswell, and agree with a lot of the subject matter especially about the seeding of the tech for research into lasr,fibre optic,night vision etc.

I do think this is why we had a quantum leap in technology in such a short time. All the new breakthroughs in that time scale?
is it true that the book was not really proof read & this is how it slipped past the censors OR would you say it's what TPTB call accountable denyability (something like that?) so IF the truth does come out they can say "well it's all in this and that book"

Good to hear you enjoy it and thanks!

Col. Corso's book was titled The Day After Roswell so in my usual cheeky fashion I titled the thread The Day Before. 

Actually this sighting wave began several months before Roswell and continued for several months after.


I'm not sure how the book made it to publication but I would imagine his credentials and connections had something to do with it.

I do have plans to continue the thread since I have only posted about 20% of the available reports so far. It's been slow going since I have several plates spinning on poles at the same time and try to keep them all going at once.

This is an incredibly important wave once the implications of what was happening when dawns on you.

More on that soon as it is indeed time to give this plate another spin.

-Airlines Pilot, Reporting New Flying Disc, Wants Them Kept Off Airways-


(AP) Captain Charles F. Gibian and First Officer Jack Harvey, United Air Lines Flight 105 saw a bizarre object "as silhouetted against a bright western sky", about the size of their own aircraft and about 40 miles distant, which was seen rapidly diminishing in size as it appeared to be going toward the northwest at very high speed.

They say they saw a round, flat object in the sky west of Mountain Home, a village 45 miles east of here.

Captain Gibian described that it appeared to be "weaving," as if "it were going through choppy air" and "going like hell when it disappeared."

Both men watched it vanish from view and agreed that they had never seen such a thing before. They also felt certain what they saw could not have been an aircraft.

"If it is real it must be some sort of military experiment and if that is the case they ought to arrange to keep the objects off the civil airways."

Army and Navy spokesmen have denied knowledge of the discs.

I have only just got around to looking at this Roswell thread of yours...
I have initially speed read through it for now, but I am now more aware of
what you have covered.

I have to say no doubt you have done an amazing Job and gone to an incredible amount  of time and effort to research and produce it.

I had no idea behind much of what you have shown us in your research.

Certainly a lot to absorb....

I have just been surprised to see a TV drama program that I watched some years ago about the UFO scene...

Did you ever watch the Mini TV Series called Taken !

I just watched the opening as I write of the 1st of the series and it started with the WW2 years and shows a US / UK aircraft bombing mission over Germany when all of a sudden a series of bright lights approach at high speed and pass close to the aircraft....I thought that it was very well filmed and the effects were impressive...

Later on it shows when 3 UFOs crash at Roswell...where a woman who just broke down on a nearby Road witnesses it and goes to investigate....She finds scattered burning debris and walks through it...She picks up some metal ...As she walks through...you see something quickly pass behind her.
At the end of that scene you see an Alien hiding in a Tree !...Again I thought that it was really well filmed...

Later on the military Investigate the wreakage and it shows them come up with initial suggestions and cover up stories....

After this another investigator is shown finding a completely in tact Saucer that has crashed and is shown stuck out of the terrain..

There is a little girl who tells the story in parts of each series.

Overall  I think it was a good series made by Speilberg

I thought 'Taken' was very well done and I was pleasantly surprised by it.

Of course you could expect the effects to be spectacular but the story is what concerned me as possibly further muddying the waters.


In the end I think the message was that more than anything, we should be concerned with our fellow human reaction to contact above anything else.

All in all, a very well done fable.

'Secret' Army Base Set Up


   Use of a New Mexico base for a highly secret project was disclosed indirectly Tuesday in a war department announcement of routine changes of command for a number of general officers.

The announcement recorded that Brig. Gen. Robert M. Montague, former assistant commandant of the anti-aircraft and guided missiles center at Fort Bliss, texas, now was assigned to the "armed forces special weapons project ar Sandia base, Albuquerque, N.M."

There was no further explanation of the function of this project.

It is known, however, that Maj. Gen. Leslie J. Groves, former chief of the Manhattan project, the agency which developed the atom bomb for the army, is associated with the direction of the "armed forces special weapons project" at Washington.

The Sandia base was a former army air forces field. It is the general area of the Los Alamos A-bomb laboratories and the site of the first bomb test at Alamagordo.

Succeeding Montague at the Fort Bliss guided missiles center is brig. Gen. Charles E. Hart, artillery officer for the First army, at Govenors island, New York.

Hey astr0144, and any one else for that matter, Taken is back on in the UK on BBC2 on sunday nights,late though. i enjoyed it the 1st time around.just a heads up for those interested.
