There were "wars" amongst man on this planet, way before banks/financial institutions even existed! Even the Native American Indians fought among themselves over land, their women, and etc. So, to say "all wars = bankers" is probably less than accurate.  ;)

But, on the other hand, financial B/S is responsible for much of the actions around the planet, that involves pitting men against men to achieve strategic objectives.

There were thousand of years of War before Banks were invented. Banks didn't really come into existence until there was a need for expansion of commerce and that happened in the Medieval times. before that there were private money lenders

History of Banking

The history of banking begins with the first prototype banks of merchants of the ancient world, which made grain loans to farmers and traders who carried goods between cities. This began around 2000 BC in Assyria and Babylonia. Later, in ancient Greece and during the Roman Empire, lenders based in temples made loans and added two important innovations: they accepted deposits and changed money. Archaeology from this period in ancient China and India also shows evidence of money lending activity.

Banking, in the modern sense of the word, can be traced to medieval and early Renaissance Italy, to the rich cities in the north such as Florence, Venice and Genoa. The Bardi and Peruzzi families dominated banking in 14th century Florence, establishing branches in many other parts of Europe. Perhaps the most famous Italian bank was the Medici bank, established by Giovanni Medici in 1397.

The development of banking spread from northern Italy through Europe and a number of important innovations took place in Amsterdam during the Dutch Republic in the 16th century, and in London in the 17th century. In Germany, banking dynasties such as Welser, Fugger and Berenberg have played a central role over centuries.

Actually banks were a very good and practical idea, until they got greedy I highly recommend this animation if you haven't seen it already. This should be in all schools

Yes.  BUT...  War is ALWAYS fought for profit.  Or to protect profit on the part of the attackees.  Never is is just, "Oh, Let's start a war today.  Those guys look cool to attack.  Why not?"

I think the point is that in the last several hundred years (and under different guises, perhaps even before that), all wars are banker wars.

Yup. Seen that.  The thing is...  In needing to account for energy, through exchange, greed is emergent.  It is inherent in the whole scarcity paradigm that requires such accounting.  And clearly, inciting Humans to kill other Humans to feed the greed is not out of the realm of the behaviors that emerge.

I only just finished having a conversation about this very topic with a few individuals on IRC.  One of them ended up calling me a paranoid schizophrenic, and two others moved to change the subject once they'd heard some of what I was saying.  Afterwards, I found myself mentally asking Kali, "And you want me to try and help these people?"

But don't tell me, guys; I know.  They were right.  I'm a smug, arrogant, condescending jerk who doesn't know what I'm on about, and is also wet behind the ears, and far too much younger than the Elders around here (or on various other forums, for that matter) to do anything so audacious as daring to have an opinion.

Also, inb4 Zorgon (or whoever else feels like it) rages at me for mentioning Kali again, because we're all supposed to be fashionably atheistic these days; (or at least pretend to be) and/or refers to me as a hypocrite for doing so.
