Thanks to General Hammond "The Fictitious Character any SG1 fan would Identify with as a good human"  it seems the US Navy are releasing some cool Laser Tech to the public to view!

I wont complain as any person worth their merit has seen at least the pages Zorgon has documented on the main site which detail's REAL insider pics of the orbiting Laser's RIGHT ?

US navy laser cannon shoots down drone during testing - video

QuoteFootage released by the US navy shows a powerful laser cannon shoot down a drone aircraft during testing. The new weapon, known as the Laser Weapon System or Laws, is being billed as a step towards transforming warfare and will be deployed on US navy ships

i find it kinda weird because for the past month i have been researching handheld lasers.
i wonder what kind of diode they are using.
i bet its a pulsed one.turns on and off real quick.
it just takes too long to burn through a drone.
the interview i saw said it cost a dollar a minute to run.so pretty cheap but i wouldnt want to rely on its performance in a all out aasault against me.
maybe thirty mounted all over the ship would work though.
with some targetting the same spot.
it wont stop bullets or bombs either.
ive never been much for rules.
being me has its priviledges.

And also check out a company who I have done a bit of work for in a "very limited sense".  I can vouch that they do in fact make product's and are not some bogus Black Bogey company.

Space Ablation

QuoteAblation is "the process of generating forces on objects by means of surface interactions with energy projected from a distant point".  Laser beams, directed from earth to intersect with objects in space, generate significant forces if the interaction is carefully controlled.

Up until now, the only way to avoid space debris was to adjust your course around it to prevent a collision.  EOS is now fine-tuning technology that will allow pieces of space debris and other objects in space to be physically maneuvered into a different orbit using long range high power plasma beam (ablation).

Tractor Beam's are very REAL and hopefully put to good purpose by Hammond :D

I have no way of knowing the legitimacy of the video or elsewise... But hey what if some advanced folke's know that... and hey what if we may know a bit of that and our algorithm's are not quite up to scratch in the control of path to direction front yet ?

I have started using a GPS training watch for running and I can safely say I am blown away every time i connect my watch to the software on my PC.  Luckily the the watch I have is run by a TW company so they are a bit more open to idea's than say Garmin, and they update their firmware rather than run on yearly product cycles (for now at least) and they openly state how they smooth over the Algorithms for the GPS functions.

Imagine how that sorta level of accuracy must work on Mil Based Space Stuff ... Man thats cool  8)
