Queen Beatrix secured an 800 million gas & oil contract with the Arabs before she handed the throne over to Wilem Alexander. Shell will do anything to keep that kind of money fllowing..

Yes, i trust them more than the 'western' oil companies

Shell make a big show of investing in cheap alternative energy sources, like hydrogen cells (which are expensive, dangerous, & you will have to tank up with highly explosive hydrogen which will be supplied by those same oil companies).
They have a huge team of top scientists, chemists & engineers all trying to wring every last ounce of energy from petroleum.
Why, i don't know. Cars are only about 8% efficient to start with, they are a lost cause.
Shell is also investing in solar & wind projects & crazy schemes like piezo-electric road surfaces which generate electricity from the pressure of passing cars etc.

But it's all window dressing, putting on a good show for the peeps. They haven't generated a single watt with all these ideas as far as i can discover...

They could have used all that money to design & mass produce efficient HHO cells so that cars can be run on water.
They could have invested in other sources, like fusion power for instance.

But they won't, they are way too scared of losing profits, and don't really give a damn about the environment or the future.

The Arabs, on the other hand know that the source of their wealth is drying up, and sooner or later someone is going to step in with a new energy source.
Most of them, the OPEC members, don't want anything to do with it, but a few of the independents are getting seriously interested in alternative energy, as are countries like India.

If that happens, the West is faced with a big problem; No-one needs oil any more, except the West, which has an unending demand for it, so the political tables will be turned, the U.S. Europe, Russia, they will all be in the same boat.

The CFR report in '72 spelled this all out, and hinted at the need to keep the middle east in constant turmoil, and to keep that black gold flowing at all costs

I have a first edition of that report, there's some amazing stuff in there.

Funny thing is, the whole world stage has gone exactly the way the CFR predicted.

Here's a see-through model of my balanced hydrogen generator that puts out a liter and a half of HHO per minute--enough to run a mid-sized car on all while you drive on the existing 12v system @10amps. Buy a pulse phase regulator and there would be no overheating up to 30amps.

I brought this one in under 300 bucks. I gave Thor a parts list, and I could build and hook one to a vehicle in about five hours from scratch. Enjoy the music...

White Plains' successful track record in introducing alternate fuels for city vehicles are a great fit with Shell Hydrogen's efforts to develop solutions to transportation and energy challenges," said Phillip Baxley, President of Shell


First hydrogen refueling station opens in Shanghai
November 15, 2007

Shanghai, 15 November, 2007: China Ministry of Science and Technology, Shanghai government, Tongji University and Shell Hydrogen today announced the opening of the first hydrogen refueling station in Shanghai for fuel cell vehicles.

The Anting Hydrogen refueling station, located at the International Automotive City in Anting, Shanghai, will dispense compressed gaseous hydrogen for a fleet of fuel cell cars and buses operating in the Shanghai region.

The Shanghai government has already helped to deliver dozens of fuel cell vehicles operating in Shanghai, and this is planned to grow exponentially by 2010, including fuel cell buses sponsored by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) through the United Nations Development Programme.

The Amsterdam transport company (GVB) will be testing three fuel cell buses in Amsterdam, The Netherlands as part of the Clean Urban Transport for Europe Project (CUTE).

I was at a convention setting up one of those hydrogen pumps as a demo...  It is easy to use by even little old ladies and safe... so filling is not an issue

Nickel foam tanks and other safe storage tanks have been developed that can not explode in case of accident. The gas is forced into little bubbles and thus not enough concentrattion in an open space to go BOOM!!!

Back in the 60's University of Toronto was offering a refit kit for any car for just over 680.00  Consisted of a special carburator, a nickle foam tank and a set od car springs to offset the tanks extra weigh. A Do-it-yourself install

As for Shell selling the Hydrogen... true enough they will be a supplier...

BUT consider THIS...

Once the cars using Hydrogen are on the market, you can get your fuel ANYWHERE

Unlike gasoline which you cannot possible refine yourself... or alchohol whicj will likely land you in jail if you don't blow yourself up... Hydrogen you CAN easily make yourself  from simple electrolosys to complicates HHO fuel cells.

Point is the car is already set to just plug in your gas generator  (and may need a compression pump

So lets support those Hudrogen cars  get them common  and then just plug in our own source

Many companies here already use hybrid trucks which go electric in the city to reduce noise & pollution, they work perfectly also.

I can tell you i have seen THICK stainless tanks/cabinets/walls ripped apart by just a small amount of hydrogen.
If it leaks, it will gather under the motor hood, and BOOM!.
I've seen that happen with LPG installations in cars, too.

Once the cars using Hydrogen are on the market, you can get your fuel ANYWHERE

With all due respect, mighty Z, you missed out a few points;

1) The foam tanks also need stuff like Lithium & other rare metals, some of which you simply cannot buy, this will NEVER become a D.I.Y. option.

2) it is totally pointless, one tanker accident will make the Hindenburg disaster look like a candle
You can make the H and the O on demand, just enough to run the engine & no more
No tanks, no EX risks at all.
When i work in H2 or EX environments (as per Shell's own VCA & VOP regs), i must carry NO electronic items at all, not even a watch. I have to use BRONZE or special plastic tools. EVERYTHING has to be earthed, with clamps & cables.

You want to try all that every time you drive?
It's not safe and it will never work.

Sorry to poop on your post, but it simply isn't viable. BMW tried it, the cars cost 75 grand and where can you tank them up today in your country?

3) With a HHO system, your supplier is NATURE
Water, in fact if you have on board filters & de-minealising cells, you can literally p**s in it & off you go.

Rainwater, dew, rivers, urine, anything.

THAT will be our power source......
