KWTV: All the kids at Briarwood Elem School have been accounted for. School took a direct hit.


At least one tornado touched down near Oklahoma City on Monday, only one day after a tornado killed two in Shawnee.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado emergency, which CNN reports as a rare occurrence.

According to a tweet from KFOR Channel 4 in Oklahoma City, the twister measures 1.25 miles wide.

School Children Trapped Under Debris
A reporter for KFOR said there were approximately 75 kids trapped in Plaza Towers Oklahoma Elementary school under debris.

"You can only pray for those families," the reporter said, relaying that his information was coming from one of the rescuers on the ground. "The walls are gone ... and the roof is completely gone."

Tornado Warning In Effect In Lincoln County, Okla.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning over central Okla. in Lincoln County and has asked residents to seek shelter. From the NWS:
