A fascinating article by Thomas Sheridan.  Given his (and my own!) apparent interest in SCEPCOP, I'm sure Pimander will find it relevant, among other people.

well that's sure to make a few people upset.  lol
whew, more insults per square inch than you can shake a stick at.  apparently, the author has encountered a particularly voracious skeptic.  i've met a few on ats and have wondered how they could dismiss data from qualified people like engineers who generated theories on how the great pyramid was constructed, in favor of some mundane explanation that contained such scant information that you would get more detail reading how harrison ford's hair style was created.

As Spock would say, 'Fascinating'  :D

I guess you could level that accusation at both sides of the fence sometimes, but to say that they are 'Brain Deficient' harks back to the days of Eugenics and the categorization of Races.
'Hard Headed' would be a more apt description!

The fact that he brings up that more intelligent people are more susceptible to 'Hypnotism' etc. is actually backed up by studies.
Maybe because you can't create something out of nothing (In the case of the intellectually challenged)  ;D

this video is intense.  here it is again.  i've watched it like 20 times. look at all the experts that are labelled idiotic conspiracy nuts. the lady in the museum, who was supposedly an expert,  had no idea what half the artifacts were nor what they were called or used for.  to be fair, some of that stuff is pretty strange, but you'd think they would make an attempt to theorize on it, other than labeling everything religious.

it takes a high iq to dig through all the bs.small minds just cant handle it.

look at the difference between all those spooks and glp.which one has more shills and also is less productive threads.the two run parrallel.where as here we have one shill and lots of open minded polite people so we are very productive in investigating things.

Shilly Wabbut...Our mapping systems (synaptically speaking) are subject to enlightenment (or HAARP signals, whichever) so stay tuned, because one by one, they're all running out of cover stories as the chips that fell reveal where they lay. Now it gets fun, kids. Now the teams will be switching court sides.

We will one day outgrow our petty want for control. We'll learn to graciously yield to each other as equals, despite our differences, and treat each other as sovereign and free individuals. Choices along those lines are being made subconsciously right now, even as we daydream our scenarios of fancy.

Control freaks hide their doings, spy on people and manipulate the systems of this context toward their advantage. I don't begrudge them that; it is the nature of a control freak, and due primarily to a lack of integrated sentience (appreciation for the rights of others, including other species) and character, which is refined only through myriad experiences.

I don't fear or even loathe shills. I pity them, and am cheering them on from the edge of my chair hoping that THIS will be the moment they wake up, and no longer feel so insecure they desire to control others. It's an unfolding story as we speak.

Remember...scientifically alcohol is not a problem, it's a solution.

This topic, concerning excessive skepticism (or pseudoskepticism), is not a mere idle controversy. Lives, fortunes and nations are involved.  The above is in regard to a continuing struggle to establish the reality of a particular 'Cold Fusion' effect, the E-Cat, that was updated this week.

The critics have become rabid and pathological.  They assert, in effect, an international conspiracy exists to promote this "scam" - now consisting of engineers and scientists from across Europe (with others promoting similar effects here in the US).

Never mind that NASA scientists have testified that the effect is real but unexplained.  The forces of Darkness will not win....

Good post, Petrus. :)

We have all been there with compulsive debunkers.  They won't change, no matter how irritating they are.  The problem with it all is that you do need to wade through a lot of BS to get to the real mysterious stuff.  There are holes in the state sanctioned dogmas and they do need to be studied.  The hardcore debunkers who just attack anything outside the mainstream actually make real science look stupid.

All I ask from "debunkers" is this.  Apply the same standards to both sides of the argument.  Be fair or fcuk off!

We are all Skeptick's and Believer's to some degree !

Whether we like it or not!

I was thinking about the Tornado at work tonight and how I am sure (IF I looked) that there would be long running thread's about it being HAARP.  Then I got thinking about "the  HAARP" being blamed for EVERY Geological/Weather Disaster and sorta thought to myself, "Damn man if all these people were right then all we have to do is Remove this HAARP and we have a constant temperature on Earth, no wind, no geological activity and pineapples grow in Antarctica along with Mangoes".

I have had to debunk quite a lot of things, and it's not easy pooping on someones parade, but if that person is just plain wrong, pooped on they will be.
:D
Steorn & Rossi being 2 cases where i was most uncomfortable when i reached my conclusions.
I have posted those conclusions many times right here on PRC and yet no-one has come forward to question them.
I am not God, i could be wrong.
But you will have to convince me why the 2 examples above are real overunity, because as yet i have no proof that they work, and a lot of proof that they were faking the results.
Call me brain deficient if you like :P

he's talking about the kind of skeptics that don't have any of the required knowledge to comment on the subject, but still do, and usually with a derogatory attached.  there's a thread on ats right now with several examples of it.

for example a gentleman posted a thread on the subject of new information coming out regarding roswell.  allegedly, the son of a geologist who photographed the crash site before the whole thing was locked down, claimed to have the photos and had released them to the roswell dream team (whoever that is).  included in the op was an illustration of the event someone had done years ago. the op explained it was an illustration and it even says on the image that its an illustration but several people had to post that it was obviously a faked image, not a legit photograph lol

that's the kind of skepticism where you have to do a double take.  it borders on trolling. they don't even bother to read the op and are already criticizing the information.  they just looked at the photo and skipped right to the Reply button.

This debunk and skeptic life is part of working with UFOs. The problem is that so many people are either brain dead or shills working to keep things secrete. For myself, I like to start in the middle with, OK, I have something, what is it?

Many times I have de-bunked UFO sightings with an actual object. Like a blimp or balloon. As they say 95% are real objects. So the weeding out is sometimes easy. So these are throw away UFOs and the rest are left to work on.

The Hardcore Skeptics and Debunkers help us stay on our toes and work harder. The trouble is that nobody pushes them back when they are wrong because we all know that 95% of the time they are right. So the odds are stacked in their favor to start with. Even with the 5% left it is almost an impossible case to prove.

So they have everything on their side to begin with. That is life....Deuem

ps; People with an Avatar on UT just love to spread the hate. I wonder if they are like this face to face. Some of these people on UT are almost X rated with their comments.  Such a world...
