Watched an Australian Science program tonight on the 2003 Canberra Bushfires.
Seems we recorded the World's first Fire Tornado that has ever been documented/filmed.

Scary stuff! As if a Bushfire isn't enough, throw a 250 mile/hr vortex into the mix!  :o

Maybe the first mix of tornado and fire, but smaller tornadoes created by a fire are not that rare.

During WWII, the Allies bombed some German towns with incendiary bombs, and that showed that, when there's a fire big enough, it creates it's own winds, and, depending on the circumstances, it may create a strong wind blowing from a place to another, acting like a blow torch, or it can create small tornadoes.

Either way, I don't want to see one of those up close.  :o

The great chicago fire and the fires of phestigo wisconsin, which occured almost when the chicago fire began, had fire vortices roaming around settin more fires and burning things in rather odd ways.

In the chicago fire they said things ignited when there was no reason for stuff to set fire. In phestigo the fire waffed through the air and hot spots ignited out of nothing.

Fire is the devils work.

Heat rises and I saw a place near pendleton oregon and the idaho border called cabbage on interstate 84 west, where dust devils rose miles up into the air swirling as they danced on the desert floor. The location I watched the show was almost a mile high from the oregon side so I had a unique visual of the devils.
