Finally, someone is going to step up and do something about this stupid way we have for paying wait staff who get tips. The minimum wage for restaurants to pay for such workers is ridiculous - $2.25 per hour. For a long time I have considered this low minimum to be a crime against the people. Sure, a low minimum wage may mean lower prices for us, but just think about what workers at that wage have to put up with. Their livelihood depends upon whether or not they get enough tips to "make it through until tomorrow".

There is no way to defend such a low low minimum wage. Restaurants should by the normal laws have to pay the standard minimum wage, regardless of tips. Now this restaurant owner is even going to not allow tipping, and I suppose that is ok too. I did work for a long time, and I never received a tip! But, I did get paid vacation, and other bennies that were also important to me and my family.

Anyway, I thought this interesting, and thought some of you might think it interesting also! But, then I do not eat sushi either!!
