Last few weeks I have been spending some time on Facebook, just scanning the reams of photos and BS that flows by endlessly hoping to catch something useful to post.

There have been the odd one... hard to spot amongst the noise and the silly photo posting and the 100's of inane comments "oooo pretty picture!"

But one picture today caught my attention. I had seen it before but never really found the source. I wanted that source so I could use it as an example.  Well today I posted on the comments and was told I was nuts

I am going to task YOU GUYS AND GALS to find me the ORIGINAL

This photo is making the rounds on the internet as a base on the far side of the Moon, a secret NASA 'leaked' photo. Go ahead and google the image using image search (the little camera icon on google search after selecting 'image' option in search.

This photo is on Earth... yet NO ONE CARES... the STORY that it is a moon base is much better than the truth, so toss truth out the window and when someone like me comes along... just tell em they are on the wrong page

The PROBLEM here is that it makes any true seeker of truth or researcher shake his/her head in disbelief, saying "WHY do I bother?"

Listening to all the whistle blowers in recent years most ALL of them have opted to say "Screw the truth, they only want the story... so I will sell them the story"

People that we once trusted to be true insiders are now leading the field in selling BS stories to an ever fickle public

Hoaxer are far outnumbering true researchers and they have a bigger audience. All you need to do is spend a day at FB and see the comments on UFO and Alien pictures. The wackier the image, the more they oooo and ahhh

Holy hoax: Radical Islamists call on Egypt to destroy pyramids

In the post, a person masquerading as al-Mahmoud labeled the pyramids "idolatrous" and asked Egypt's new president to destroy them, as Egypt's Daily News reports.

Several conservative websites used the news to raise alarm over the rise of Egypt's Islamist government.

According to rumors, al-Mahmoud encouraged Cairo to "accomplish what the Sahabi Amr bin al-As could not."

This was a reference to the Muslim Prophet Mohammed's companion, Amr bin al-As, and his ancient tribesmen who invaded and conquered Egypt in 641.

An Islamization process was begun under his rule – which saw many Egyptian monuments destroyed as "relics of infidelity."

However, demolishing the pyramids was prohibited during the 7th century – so the structures remained untouched.

The parody tweet was published on June 25 – the same day Muhammed Morsi was announced president of Egypt. However, it wasn't picked up by media until today.

The fake tweet that sparked frenzy in the Arab Media coincided with a genuine attack on cultural heritage objects by radicals.

On Tuesday, Islamist fighters destroyed two tombs at the famous Djingareyber mosque in the Malian city of Timbuktu. Witnesses say militants shot into the air to warn people away while they smashed the shrines.

All was a hoax, but I wonder how many radicals took it seriously, just as the social medias believed it real?

THAT is awesome. I would love to travel and see all the ancient structures peru,egypt,easter island,etc.
and these extremists want to destroy them.
IT'S as bad as king Henry v111 and all the monasteries and castles he had demolished. sad,

Okay the POINT I was making with the image in the OP is that 99% of people will just accept that its on the moon because someone on the internet says so... and then share it as such.

The post at FB that I found it on already has 115 like and 67 shares. Seems he even removed my comment that it was on Earth and replied  "Aliens are here(A.R.H) Now Ron I do believe you my friend are on the wrong page!"

So with that kind of an adudience, anything we do to show real ones is lost in the noise because while ours are "obviously blurry rocks" pictures like this are "obviously a base on the moon"

no i'm pretty sure that and the one I posted are if not the same then they are at least from the same region of ancient Iran.
regardless. what I struggle with when it comes to the moon anomaly's is scale.
I just cannot get a grasp on it I need some point of reference. some "size compared to a car"
sort of type thing.
