Color Picture of the Moon

Got this via email and invited the gentleman to join us...

This photo is not high resolution BUT the colors are what is of interest.

From Pierre Marien

Dear Sir,

On 29th July I made the picture below with my Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ150 handheld.

I was surprised to obtain similar colors as those you publish for the lunar orbiter.

Do the different colors in  Mare Imbrium correspond to  different geological materials or to the change of surface texture linked to meteoritic impacts.
The shape of the green areas could indicate the direction of the impacts.

Is there a generally accepted explanation for the white lines emanating from Tycho?
There also appear traces of apparently enormous rolling boulders?

Yours sincerely,

Prof. Dr Pierre Marien
