Now then...

I tried growing my own stuff this year...

I make my own soil, literally
We put in tons of water $200.00 a month ish
I put in shade screens to shelter from the heat

No chemicals, no bug killers

Results

1) red army ants from Californis moved in and have been near impossible to kill... making headway using lamp oil (that works on most ant nests overnight but these red ones seem to have more than one Queen per colony

2) Rats moved in and have been eating everything including the tomato plant stems. Peanut butter works in traps but they go for the produce first so will need to wait till winter to get them. We never had a problem before

3) Some weird Pomegranite bug that is green in summer and goes red as the fruit changes has bored into the fruits that the rats didn't eat yet

4) All kinds of weird bugs this year decimating the leaves on all the fruits and veggies. Raspberries are barely hanging in and strawberries barely producing shriveled fruit

5) Super weeds moved in.  These are Monsanto resistant and grow straight up about 4 feet

End results...

No organic food crops to harvest this year

So I guess I will take my chances on some of those GMO products :D

Just about to post this and found "Zs" posts that delayed it !   :-\

One main concern that I have is for certain popular foods that maybe most of us will eat that are tinned  like Soups or baked beans, Spaghetti..

Heinz is maybe the most well known brand..that is unfortunately on the list...

There are many other companies producing well known brands as well..

But if I go in some of the major supermarkets, they have their own labels on what seems their own products..

Wallmart or Asda , tesco, Aldi are some egs that come to mind..

But more than likely one of the main companies like Heinz supply these supermarkets maybe with a lower class product and just add the supermarkets brands labels to the tins...

So the public may not know where the Supermarkets brands really come from , I assume that in some cases maybe this info can be found on the label , but also often not !

Alex Jones always said Walmarts or Asdas, Smartprice brands should be avoided at all costs.. but as they also have a brand just saying for Asda or Walmart baked beans as well, but we may not know where their supermarket named brand comes from...

They also have many other well known brands like Heinz close by on the same shelves... and in some cases you get exactly the same product & quality , but they may make the supermarket label brand cheaper....and keep the well known ones higher price..  :-\

Well here we have SMITH"S Foods.  They are a Mormon company that opperate under MANY brands. Ralpsh's Food4Less Kroger foods  etc... (it may be Kroger is at the top)  You can find out by contacting companies like Heinz and get a list of brands  but it takes a little work

Yes most canned and packaged foods come from only a few manufacturers and they change the label, just like Generic drugs do

One of the jobs I had as a teen was working at a bottling company. My job was manning the label machine.  This was in Winnipeg in the 70's There was only ONE bottling plant that bottled ALL the sodas

Now on the cola products for example.... you may find this interesting

The ONLY time they changed the formula was when we were bottling Coca Cola  ALL the other colas, Pepsi, RC cola you name it was the SAME formula... they only stopped the line long enough for me to switch labels

Okay Kroger is the top of the heap  Here is the list of their labels

Interesting "Z"...

Do you think that the Mormon Companies maybe under  Kroger maybe more ethical and not allow GMO products at least in any of their own labels if they supply them..or do you think they will be similar to the likes of the Walmarts !

Companies like Heinz may supply many of its other brands if requested and I suspect some will be shown on their website... BUT I am not sure if they may admit to supplying certain main Supermarkets like Walmarts.. who show their own labels or packaging as if it was the supermarkets own brand, when it may really be say Heinz's or a similar supplier..

I know what you mean about the Bottle plant...I have seen it in some other companies who create other liquid products...ie they mainly just change labels  ( some may show varied prices for exactly the same thing )  and only occasionally or for other main brands larger orders actually produce a different product and change the process & production line set up to accommodate..

Thing is it is easy enough to back trace any company ownership  Like Tesco traces back to Royal Dutch Shell in Amsterdam :PD

All GMO foods are not necessarily harmful to eat...  it is the fact that they cannot reproduce that is the main problem

We have been making hybrid foods since the dawn of time. Did you know that CORN would not exist if we didn't manipulate it? Cross breading and hybrids are in effect Genetically modifying the plant by selecting certain strains and promoting them to grow. Modern GMO is just getting inside the DNA directly :D

Hitler tried to breed a super race using the old method of selection. It works, just his motives were askew :D  Most pet breeds these days are a result of genetic manipulation

Now growth hormones in meat and dairy products... THAT is a concern as it stays in the milk etc But even that won't do you a lot of harm ONCE YOU ARE FULLY GROWN

Doesn't mean I say they are good for you or we shouldn't stop... but it won't kill you if you are starving :P

The human body is a chemical factory... it is tough. As long as you can balance it out it will work fine. Rasputin proved that by eating arsenic to build up a tolerance :D

astr0144

I didn't know some of those facts !

I did think that GMOs could be used in an ethical and beneficial way to create variations in the crop, make them last longer and grow faster and larger etc etc...

and hopefully as you suggest this is the case...

It is just being unsure what ones are safe from the bad intentions behind some that is the issue of our concerns...especially if the products look good and appear to last longer that may be partially misleading to the consumers if they do this to disguise certain ones in that manner..

With ref to Heinz, I had a quick look at one of their websites..

They do not seem to show other brands for their main tinned or canned products...  BUT they do show some partners in relation to their sauces..

HP & Daddies being two very well known ones...

http://www.heinz.co.uk/Sauce-Partners

Not sure if this means Heinz actually supply their products and just relabel them accordingly.... or if they have some other connection with them..

Thinking How many people use Sauces...if that is targeted as a harmful  GMO related product then they certainly will be effecting a huge part of the world populations...

Here ya go...

And these taste DELICIOUS :D  Haven't killed me yet

Everything is relative...

I just sawe a FB post claiming Heinz Vinegar is made from more corn than apples :D  But the active ingredient in Vinegar is ACETIC ACID...

Doesn't really matter WHICH plant it comes from LOL  Wine (grapes) will also turn to Vinegar

The problem is few people have a science background and easily fall victim to the hucksters and the doom porn merchants

If you have every eaten hot dogs and baloney... and like them... DO NOT visit the place where they make them :P

Most vinegar in Portugal is "wine vinegar". :)

I had a Moroccan girl staying with us for three months... From France (they have a big community over there)

She was one of those picky eaters, worried about everything.

One thing she liked was Nutella  ( hazzlenut/chocolate spread popular in Europe)  So we bought some and she was reading the ingredients.  She was shocked... she said "We don't have all that stuff in it in France..."

I had to explain to her that the French do not require the listing of ingredients like we do... but it came from the same vats :P

And she couldn't understand why and how we could drink Gator Aide :P

Or why we kept a pantry with a stock of food. Like Japan, Europeans tend to shop daily :D  And look what happened when that EQ hit... no food in stores and no one had more than a day or two supplies

Oh no You Di'int!  Really, z?  You are trying to equate taking nature's creations and assisting their reproduction with tinkering with the foundational molecules...in VERY haphazard ways?  Really?!?

QuoteHitler tried to breed a super race using the old method of selection. It works, just his motives were askew :D  Most pet breeds these days are a result of genetic manipulation

Again, NO dog breeds (outside of a possible lab somewhere) are the result of CHANGING what nature provides.

There is growing evidence that the BT GMO corn is the cause of the sudden radical jump in food alergies - the BT causes the gut to leak, food particles get into the blood, antibodies are made, and viola!  Now You're allergic to whatever food got into Your blood.

Also, some of the changed elements (like RNA and smaller molecules) are showing up even in People who have not had GMO in years.

So, no.  Won't kill You right away...but it WILL kill You.

Nice find for Heinz's related Key brands...

Looking at them though, I myself am not that familiar with most of them..although they vary with differing countries...

And in the eg where say if they were to supply Walmart's branded labels...
I do not notice any of the main supermarkets that I am familiar with...
Although Heinz may not supply Supermarkets...

So one may have to do similar search's for other similar companies to Heinz.

With ref to that large Strawberry ....I have seen that picture before...
Is that a suggestion that you grown it !   .if so, how many were similar and how did you manage such a feat ?  ...It would make a huge milkshake  :)

I had thought that most  Vinegar was from Grapes ( Wine as Artmap refers to ) although I have heard of apple vinegar as well..

I am not so sure either....I tried it when in the USA as it was a cheaper beverage...but I cannot say that I found it very refreshing and it had little taste..

In certain countries maybe they don't have canned or packaged foods..

we are lucky to be able to buy storeable foods and that saves us more time and effort going shopping each day..although I still know many like to go out and shop often...mainly Women ! At least they get daily exercise in this ever becoming sedated world we westerners now live in.

It is comforting to know you can have several weeks tinned food supply in the event of emergency.

i wonder if it would pertinent here to mention that i covered this topic basically, in my original ebooks.  the theory was, based on what i had read in various ancient texts, that the one of the reasons for the global flood was that everything had been polluted, including the genomes of various life forms. food was no longer edible and plants would no longer grow. noah was selected because his genetics were not modified. the text says, his generations were pure.  pure from what?   well, at the same time as it's talking about this it also introduces the angels descending to the planet, mating with human females, and creating a hybrid race called the nephilim.  the nephilim basically worked the people to death, ate up all their labor and substance, and then when there was nothing left to eat, started eating the humans.

sounds like the same thing is starting to happen again.

Amy,

You seem to be quite firm and knowledgeable in your comments in suggesting maybe most things in relation to GMO is not a good...

If you have researched it in quite some depth and can inform others who may not have done so in such detail...I am sure its appreciated...

Many things I am sure most are still uncertain about ...and some do not like anything that changes natural natures intentions...and maybe in most cases that could be the safer bet as a rule of thumb rather than risking somethings that the Scientists tell us..

I am sure one can go into immense detail in this subject...and may still not be greatly wiser in somethings that are seen as questionable , for and against in terms of benefits of GMO...if there are any that are not created for the threat of any potential globalist evil agendas...

To be frank, aside from tests where rodents were fed GMO and ALL developed cancer...I pretty much covered the evidence.  GMO's are created very haphazardly - there is a process that more or less works where They have carriers that tinker with the DNA, and then there's the brute force method:  They shoot the DNA with the genes They want in the result, and hope one winds up in a viable location.

IF We understood ALL of the DNA, what EVERYTHING does and HOW...  Then MAYBE GMO is something We might want to mess with...  But truly?  We have mostly vague guesses for 90% of the molecule, and still call it "junk DNA."

What We are messing with, what We are creating NOW, is incompatible with Our (and critters') systems on a very deep level.
