"Something is going on but it does not appear to be ET"

Ok, could you elaborate as to exactly what that means?   If the term ET offends you, then I am willing to use any other description you like as long as it reasonably exceeds the mundane explanations as one would encounter from common internet skeptics  - but still somehow involves greater than human power or intelligence.

I already posted a thread on it elsewhere which you contributed to.

The Extraterrestrial Hypothesis: Pure misdirection?

I completely disagree that it means "greater than human power".  Different may not be greater.

I am finding your behaviour very interesting.  You know very well that I have already, "elaborated as to exactly what that means?"  You're welcome to use whatever term you like but loaded terms like ET will get the same response and I suspect, but could be wrong, that you know that already and are wasting mine and the readers this time.

ET means extraterrestrial.  That assumption about every interesting phenomenon makes us look like idiots and plays in to the hands of pseudosceptics.

And in that thread of 7 pages, you said

"Agreed. They are still aliens whether ET or not".  So, I'll use "alien" to describe them.

You also discussed that such "aliens" may wish to maintain power superior to us (or that their technology may be too alien for us to use)

So, the matter is speculative, obviously.  My way of dealing with uncertain information is to put as much of it as I can fit into a hypothesis and see if it predicts anything specific - and then look for events that seem to confirm it.  If there is another method to finding greater certainty, I'd like to hear it.

As you say, "something is going on".

Exactly.

We may think they are alien craft, but we can't be sure they are ET.  So if we call them ET we are loading the language and putting the way we communicate about it and present our ideas into a box.  We need to get out of that box in my not especially humble opinion.

I'm like a dog with a bone sometimes.  It means I come across as combative, terse and a number of other things.  I'm basically a good person though so try not to hate me. :)
