Great. The Jewish 'Question' confuses me.

I guess ya got to get to know how this place works. At a certain point in some threads if it has been played out, everyone will start to play within it to drum up ideas and thoughts. From this play area many thoughts and ideas come out and this brings new threads to life. Many threads get split also.
It is what peggy does best.

We all like to think outloud and play. No play makes life boring. Try and sit at my computer for countless hours looking at frames one at a time and you go bonkers. But in the end this is still the best forum around and we all get along very well and get things done.
              No playing the mind grows old quick.

I think the rather sizeable accomplishments of the Jewish people tell us something important about belief.

On the one hand, science seems to tell us that we are seeing an amazing fraud: that genetically, modern day Jews are descended from European females and people of the Caucasus.  The Palestinians may generally be far and away more "Semitic" by descent - and possibly, more closely related to 1st century Jews anyway.

OTOH, there are these undeniable achievements - based on this belief about being 'God's chosen people'.

There were some great bits of information here and there in several of the posts. There were also some extremist rants, to say the least, will this chase me away? No

But as the wise Otter pointed out, it was in the open public area.

Even though I am a Bible Thumper I am NOT religious, nor am I what many call spiritual, I hope that I am knowledgeable.

And, I still think DISCLOSURE will come from above, not from down here.

I think Judeo-Christianity exists because of the fallacy of the excluded middle: either you believe in Jesus (or Moses) or you're an awful person going to hell.  And if you follow C.S. Lewis, you can't have a lunatic spouting wisdom and self sacrifice that changes the human race for the better. That's not how crazy people work.

However, if these faiths were set up by Aliens - that gives you a middle position that is otherwise denied or missed completely. Set up by a higher intelligence but not flawless - intended as a stepping stone, a workaround.

If these faiths have fulfilled their (Alien) purpose of directing human history in a particular way, then I wonder what comes next?

I once read "religion" is classic animal training.  One man training another to submit, obey, how to think, what to think, how to act, to do this, to not do that.  Have to say there seems to be a fair bit of truth to that.  It is behavior modification.
