Online trolls really ARE horrible people

This study confirms some of my thoughts on the subject of online trolling.  Where some see conspiracy, I sometimes see just a person with deeply rooted psychological issues.  Not saying that there aren't larger conspiracies, but this article accurately describes a few trolls that I have encountered in the forum world.

They define online trolling as 'the practice of behaving in a deceptive, destructive, or disruptive manner in a social setting on the Internet with no apparent instrumental purpose.'

They said the trolls displayed what is known as the 'Dark Tetrad' of personality in two tests developed.

'Both studies revealed similar patterns of relations between trolling and the Dark Tetrad of personality: trolling correlated positively with sadism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism, using both enjoyment ratings and identity scores.

DARK TETRAD...that's a good forum name! 

So, for those who have uncounted these creatures, it may be of small comfort that they are afflicted in their personal life as well.
