A commercial pilot with more than 30 years' experience has been left scratching his head over mysterious lights he saw over Caloundra on Good Friday.
The pilot, who does not want to be identified, said he had never seen anything through the cockpit window that compared to the experience.

It has the self-confessed "world's greatest sceptic" questioning everything he believes about UFOs.
The Pelican Waters man was admiring the sky with friends about 8pm last Friday when they first saw two coloured lights in the sky.

Then a third warm-orange glow appeared and suddenly changed direction, tracked north-east and quickly disappeared. "We were looking for an identifier; a beacon or strobe light but there wasn't any," he said.

I don't see this as an Alien UFO. Must be Black stuff. It is making a lot of interference in front and behind it but almost nothing at the wing tips. So I think that what ever it is doing is in front and behind it so it can slip through the center. The belly of the craft is also very flat from a signature. Leading and trailing wing gagets? Maybe horizontal lifter tech.

Wouldn't be so invisible then! If that is what billions in stealth got us, then then tell someone to turn the light off.

Wish he had taken more pics. Does it sound in the article like there was more that one flying around?

My bet is Zorgon knows what it is and he wants to see what info he can ferret out! :-)


This does look similar to a UAV design from a few years ago I ran across. Can't remember the contractor's name but it was completely new to me. I can't remember but I never heard from them again. It was supposed to be a high altitude design which could sustain the high altitudes for longer than usual times.

Not much use for that since the little shuttles have been doing it.

No, I didn't say that. 

Unfortunately, as we don't have access to the original photo, we don't have the Exif data (which in itself is not any guarantee) that could show how long the shutter was opened.

A 0.5 seconds photo of a point of light in the sky could look like that if the camera was not fixed.

Considering that he didn't see any specific shape with his own eyes and only on the photo, I think the most likely is that what we see on the photo is the result of moving the camera (and/or the movement of the light)  during the time it took to take the photo.

That was a question, not a statement.

The witness said they were seeing things that reminded him of Chinese lanterns, that's why I asked if a Chinese lantern could look like that on a long(ish) exposure.

You should now by now that when I want to say things I say them, and when I want to ask questions I ask, I don't mix things.
