Gigas.. any fracking going on around there?

shasta..i've had it happen before too but  it was a bit intense last night with more than one conversation

Gigas

No fracking that I am aware of.

It felt like a machine underground vibrating the seat and floor of the cars I was in. I had a bottle of water that I set up on the dash the first time I felt it at the hospital but the water did not react.
Everyone loves me, till they're sick of me

I've been hearing baglipes tonight.  Good thing I like bagpipes.

That's funny, I have never noticed any thing strange during a full Moon, and I am a type of person that is always looking for patterns in events that appear random.

Are you serious?

Go ask your emergency room doctors, firemen and police.  :o

that's why they're called 'LUNATICS'!

My wife's an RN on a telemetry unit at the local hospital and she absolutely hates working during a full moon because all the crazies come out and do stupid crap and in up in the hospital....that's a fact!....

I suppose it's more of an American thing, I have never noticed it and I have never seen any data that supports it.

When we're talking about things that people can control, like violence and doing stupid things that end in the hospital, the way people acted because it was a full Moon (and they think they are supposed to do something) may be the reason behind it and not the fact that it is a full Moon.

Edit: does anyone have some statistics? :)

Sgt.Rocknroll

Just anecdotal evidence. I believe emt's, nurses, cops when they tell me personally. More crap and dangerous crap happens during a full moon!

I don't doubt that's what they say and what they feel is happening, but people are easily influenced, so if they are already expecting it they will notice it, while they do not notice when they are not expecting it.

Hey Armap ;)
Dude, my very first girlfriend at the age of 16, her mother had a nursing home. You know, looking after the elderly.
Well I remember her commenting at the time that she had to double the staff on nights when it was a full moon because the patients wouldn't sleep and needed more attention generally.
It used to piss her off cos it costed her more money.
We are mostly water, and the moon moves the tides.
What does the moon do to you?
"Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration – that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."

That's also possible just because they were thinking about it. :)

I never noticed anything, and I always know in what phase the Moon is. :)

Edited to add, from Wikipedia:
QuoteThe term lunar effect refers to the belief that there is correlation between specific stages of the Earth's lunar cycle and behavior in animals, including humans, that cannot simply be explained by variation in light levels. A considerable number of studies have examined the belief: by the late 1980s, there were at least 40 published studies on the purported lunar-lunacy connection,[1] and at least 20 published studies on the purported lunar-birthrate connection.[2] Several extensive literature reviews and meta-analyses have found no correlation between the lunar cycle and human biology or behavior.[1][2][3][4] One study with strong experimental controls indicates a possible connection between sleep quality and lunar phases,[5] but there has been no independent confirmation of these results to date.

I worked as a nursing assistant on a telemetry unit.  Full moon, new moon, Sunday nights and Thursday nights were the worst.  And the premiere of Titanic.  Holidays were bad too.  People would fly into DIA from Texas or Florida, get off the plane, and come to the hospital.  Denver hasn't been at sea level for quite some time now.  People forget that little detail.

It is even worse here in Georgia; tis true, it may just be the suggestion that the full moon has an affect on people, but all you have to do is converse with people in law enforcement(next door neighbor is a lieutenant on the swat team) medical profession (ex-daughter in law and several friends are nurses) or 911 (long time friend worked for 911 and GEMA) and they will tell you the same thing: full moon and new moon does seem to have it's affect on peeps...

Those of you in america might want to look at this and remember or realise that only "green" is what our grandparents and all the previous participants in human history call "normal".

I've heard the same thing from my both of my uncle's who are Cop's here in Oz Seeker in the past.  They always said when I was younger that Full Moons were a bit odd t work on the beat.  Having said that though they also said Xmas is the worst day of the year to work due to domestic's etc and Child Allowance disagreements between divorced couple's.

I always find the Full Moon effect interesting in a sense of the fact that the human body is made up of mainly water... So I wonder how that effect's someone if it effect's the oceans.
