Star Ship Enterprise!

Could Star Trek have been more accurate? lol

Obviously here, I'm going to take this as admission that these things are already operational.

AND that means, they must've discovered the next step so now this step is okay to let out of the bag.  Either that, or they are trying to get the general populace to approve more funding for the space program.  But when I hear him explain that and see his illustrations, it's like verification that everything we've been talking about regarding ETs , star gates, Area 51 and NASA, isn't as off target as we might have been lead to believe. (well doh. hehe)

Gotta love it!

The energy problem, solved!!!

There was only one problem with all this: where does the energy come from? While we knew that warp drives were theoretically possible, physicists have always argued that they would require a ball of exotic matter the size of Jupiter to power it. Clearly, that was not practical. But thankfully, Dr. White has found a solution that changes the game completely.

The Eagleworks team has discovered that the energy requirements are much lower than previously thought. If they optimize the warp bubble thickness and "oscillate its intensity to reduce the stiffness of space time," they would be able to reduce the amount of fuel to manageable amount: instead of a Jupiter-sized ball of exotic matter, you will only need 500 kilograms to "send a 10-meter bubble (32.8 feet) at an effective velocity of 10c."

Ten c! That's ten times the speed of light, people (remember, the ship itself would not go faster than the speed of light. But effectively it will seem like it does).

Ben Rich: "We found the error in the equations.  It works because everything is connected."

Looks like the two rings are a TORSION effect.  Something along these lines will work I think.

Yes, the ETHER can be modified and everything is connected in it.

folks we now have new and vastly more specific information to debunk the debunkers.  :D

i bet a51watcher will have a field day with this :D

curious, does anyone understand what he's saying in the video?

sorry deuem, if you read this, i wasn't sure what to copy and paste.  COSMO has though, so read what he posted in the thread here.

Hi undo11

Been a while. Intresting. Sure C is up to date on this. The designs I think are not the most current ones floating around. C would know.

I vote for yes they are already in production.

Interesting program I will be keeping an eye on for sure!

If C has any info on more current designs and proof of concept experiments I would love to hear about them.

eta: Sounds like Jodie Foster should be allowed to take the first ride on one of these.  8)

May be that the flux liner was the test bed for that technology...

The Seeker

I didn't get to watch the video, it kept hanging  :o but it does not surprise me to see this; although the ship does appear to be a bit smallish...

I do also agree this is probably very old news; they aren't going to show us any "new" tech unless it is already obsolete  in their scheme of things...

I wonder what they do when they get where ever they are going. Is there landing craft or will they beam down. Need a bay for the saucers. Not sure what the 2 tulips are for, maybe they open up.

Alcubierre proposed this idea in 1994, using the analogy of riding a gravity wave. There was some discussion that electrogravitics (TT Brown gravitator) was doing exactly that.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_drive

Dr. White

http://www.icarusinterstellar.org/team/harold-white/

Now this is the core of the idea...and get this...creamic capacitors!  lol

White speculates that such a drive could result in "speeds" that could take a spacecraft to Alpha Centauri in a mere two weeks — even though the system is 4.3 light-years away.

How NASA might build its very first warp drive

In terms of the engine's mechanics, a spheroid object would be placed between two regions of space-time (one expanding and one contracting). A "warp bubble" would then be generated that moves space-time around the object, effectively repositioning it — the end result being faster-than-light travel without the spheroid (or spacecraft) having to move with respect to its local frame of reference.

"Remember, nothing locally exceeds the speed of light, but space can expand and contract at any speed," White told io9. "However, space-time is really stiff, so to create the expansion and contraction effect in a useful manner in order for us to reach interstellar destinations in reasonable time periods would require a lot of energy."

"My early results suggested I had discovered something that was in the math all along," he recalled. "I suddenly realized that if you made the thickness of the negative vacuum energy ring larger — like shifting from a belt shape to a donut shape — and oscillate the warp bubble, you can greatly reduce the energy required — perhaps making the idea plausible." White had adjusted the shape of Alcubierre's ring which surrounded the spheroid from something that was a flat halo to something that was thicker and curvier.

"Our initial test device is implementing a ring of large potential energy — what we observe as blue shifted relative to the lab frame — by utilizing a ring of ceramic capacitors that are charged to tens of thousands of volts," he told us. "We will increase the fidelity of our test devices and continue to enhance the sensitivity of the warp field interferometer — eventually using devices to directly generate negative vacuum energy."
He points out that Casimir cavities, physical forces that arise from a quantized field, may represent a viable approach.

"donut shape"...doesn't he mean torus???  lol

Ceramic discs...Space time bubble...oscillate the warp bubble, you can greatly reduce the energy required.

Casimir cavities.  Interesting.

He should create a capacitor ring that allows for circular pulsing...ROTATION...of the dielectric field(remember, we are working with a super fluid here...obey mother nature...rotation)...maybe a segmented donut...mmmmmm   i kill me  lol

Like a pie, but with a hole in the center...key flux liner pie!

Doh...now I want pie!
