Robin Williams is no longer here, but his life's work will always be with us. I considered that it would be good to have a thread of enjoyable remembrance of things that Robin Williams did, and remembrance of the things in his work that made us laugh! I am certain that many of us have a real appreciation of Robin's talent, and of his contribution to our lives along the American way.

First I will post an item of a more serious note. I only saw this brief interview piece a day or two ago, but I am so glad to see it, and to know Robin's serious thoughts about what life really is all about.

This is Robin William's performance at a Norman Lear tV special in 1982 - "I Love Liberty". This is the typical excellence of Robin Williams, doing what pretty much only he and very few others could successfully do.

Laughter it can be the best thing for you when you're under the pressure of a harsh moment or decision.  This can be especially true when you're in a situation that renders you helpless or brings out anger.  Laughter or even just the physical action of smiling, can cause a chemical process triggering a chain reaction that makes you feel better, even if you don't have a reason to smile.  Just standing in front of the mirror and making a smile for a minute or two can work.
And we should all remember the act of trying to make someone smile or laugh is indeed an act of caring and kindness. Of course the kind of laughter that we're talking about can be generated by a joke, funny statement, observation as well as a internal individual humorous thought.  So when someone tries to make you laugh remember the effort that was put in two coming up with the statement or joke in their attempt to make you laugh or smile.  A lot of observation and thought processing goes into generating a statement that can be funny and make people laugh.

So a huge and heartfelt thank you to people like the late great Robin Williams.
Thank you to all you humorous people who took the time and effort to try and make another human being smile or laugh.

May you all have love in your hearts and laughter on your lips.

Sincerely,  WhatTheHey
