Navy carrier tests x47 unmanned fighter...

Saw a news clip on this yesterday abd didn't get a chance to do anything with it; now, I can't find it on Msn...

but basically was a short video showing an X47 coming in for a landing on a carrier, taxi-ing off the flight line after folding it's wings, and parking...

what caught my eye was the headline about "The Navy tests it's new un-manned fighter"...

Earlier this week, the US Navy conducted a historic first, operating manned and unmanned aircraft together from an aircraft carrier.

The test was conducted on the USS Theodore Roosevelt and successfully saw an F/A-18 fighter jet and a a bat-winged X-47B drone take off and land in rapid succession.

"Today, we showed that the X-47B could take off, land and fly in the carrier pattern with manned aircraft while maintaining normal flight deck operations," said Capt. Beau Duarte, program manager for the Navy's Unmanned Carrier Aviation office, the US Navy reported Sunday. "This is key for the future Carrier Air Wing."
