What is it?

Quote
Many Portsmouth residents were surprised, even alarmed, to see what appeared to be a flying saucer over the south coast.

UFO sightings in the United Kingdom have been mostly left to crop circles but now we have our very own spacecraft sighting.

.... Laura Young from The Met Office is left baffled: 'After looking at the images, I can say the object is nothing to do with the weather.

'It is not meteorological and is not a cloud.'

QuoteJohnny Blackwell, 23, of Trevor Road, Southsea, said: 'I don't believe in UFOs, but when I saw this I didn't know what it was.

'It didn't look like a cloud, and it was moving very fast.

'It was a grey, disc-like shape, which I know sounds like a stereotypical UFO, but that's what it looked like.

'I don't know much about military crafts, but this was very fast-moving and very odd to see.'

Too much confusion.

From what I could see there were at least 3 witnesses, but only one (not identified) took a photo of what he says was the UFO, but that photo appears to show something close to the ground and relatively close to the camera.

It may have been really some object that was seen by several people and photographed at least by one, but it's hard to really know with reporting like that.

True.  :D  I searched for the other photos supposedly submitted to
The Met office, no luck.  8)

I reckon it is light refracting of swamp gasses... or a weather balloon :-p

In all seriousness though, Portsmouth has companies like BAE, ASTRIUM and similar here and I imagine they test technology out.

The other morning I woke up at 5am and saw a jet stream coming from portsdown hill and ending towards the sea - the way it dropped and turned suddenly - definitely not a commercial airline flight - possibly a missile/jet flight test?

Quite a few different pics of this UFO but all a bit blurry which is a shame - quite a few people have decent cameras nowadays and with a DSLR and a cheapy 200mm lens, you can see details (numbers/letters) on the bottom of planes, see birds beaks and eyes (in flight) so how come no decent UFO pics.

and this one..which I thought right after hearing who took the pic

So a TELEVISION and FILM PRODUCTION student could only manage to produce a useless photo to only add speculation and nothing else. Come on. So dumb. I can start recording a video in HD on my cell phone in seconds...

So...

UFO's hiding in Clouds? or Transonic Clouds formed by UFO or Stealth Craft?
