Is that an elongated human skull on Mars?

Another suggested claim made by Examiner.com website.

A photograph taken by the Mars Curiosity Rover shows what appears to be an elongated skull on the Martian surface. According to an October 18, 2014, report by UFO Sightings Daily, the curious object is an elongated head similar to those found in ancient Egypt. In a Youtube video, the Martian skull like object is compared to elongated human skulls found in various Egyptian murals and the similarity is striking.

Is this an elongated skull on Mars and is it connected to ancient Egypt?

Around the same time the skull like object began to be discussed on the internet, NASA administrator Charles Bolden made a surprising statement about life on Mars in an October 9 interview in London:

People always ask the question 'Why Mars?' Several reasons: One, Mars is very Earth-like, or least used to be Earth-like. It is a planet, a sister planet to Earth. It is the most likely planet in our solar system, um, that had life at one time... may have life now, and we feel can definitely sustain life.

Was this merely a coincidence, or was Bolden preparing the world public for some surprising future announcement regarding life on Mars? Perhaps Martian life once existed, and it was connected to ancient Egypt?

The photograph was taken by Curiosity Rover on September 14, 2014 and was the focus of a video posted a month later. In the video, comparisons with various elongated human skulls depicted in Egyptian murals and statues, the suggestion is that the object is a human skull. If so, then the elongated skull may be evidence of a tangible connection between ancient Egypt and Mars. Both Earth and Mars at one time in their history possessed a human population with elongated skulls that were part of their respective planetary leaders.

Whatever the origin of the mysterious object, it is unlikely that the Curiosity Rover will investigate it more closely due to the standard response by NASA that such fossil like bone fragments are just rocks. For example, in its response to a Mars Rover image of what appeared to be a thigh bone found on Mars, NASA responded that it was nothing more than rock. Former NASA employees, such as Richard Hoover, however disagree. Hoover claims that NASA administrators go to great lengths to cover up the possibility of Martian life, and in one case directed one of the Rover missions to actually destroy evidence of a Martian fossil.

Perhaps NASA's standard response is right, and the skull looking object captured by Curiosity Rover is just a rock. Alternatively, the object may be the elongated skull of a humanoid species that had a historical connection to ancient Egypt. Was NASA Administrator Bolden's October 9 claim of past Martian life purely coincidental in timing, or the start of NASA releasing more of what it really knows about life on Mars?

Alien hunter finds lion's den on Mars (Video)

An astounding video, uploaded to YouTube on Oct. 19, seems to show a "lion's den" on Mars, complete with cubs, watched over by wary adults looking straight into the camera of the NASA Curiosity rover. It's either the real thing, or the strangest case of pareidolia ever discovered. Either way, the amazing video gives even the hardest skeptic pause, despite the overwhelming evidence that any form of life on Mars is impossible.

Natures Lullaby @YouTube
The author of the video, a woman using the name Nature's Lullaby, begins with a mini tutorial for navigating the raw feed website NASA manages, posting thousands of images taken by the rover for more than a year. The photos are then minutely scrutinized by a cadre of UFO and alien hunters looking to find the first, indisputable evidence of life off the Earth.

As the author scrolls down the page, she chooses one recent day of images and opens up the photo to its highest resolution. At first glance, the image doesn't appear any different than hundreds of others just like it. It's only by magnifying the photo that the startling imagery is defined, which does indeed look like a pride of lions looking out from their den, clawed out from the surrounding rock face.

Of course, such a thing shouldn't be possible. The atmosphere of Mars cannot sustain human life, much less a thriving lion pride. But the possibility these are fossilized remains is an intriguing matter for debate. Is it possible Mars once hosted the kind of diverse wildlife only, so far, found on Earth? Could a pride of lions have existed on the planet at some point in the distant past? Are these the remains, literally carved in stone, of the last denizens of what was once a rich biosphere on Earth's closest neighbor?

It looks like an elongated monkey skull from "Planet of the Apes".

LOL:)

But it is really remarkble  8) Well, why not!

Last months a lot of interesting anomalies like the lizard and the petroglyph.

Hmmmm

Are you a qualified geologist to positively identify that as 'just a rock'?

::)

Oh, so you are capable of distinguishing rocks and aliens  :P

In the photo provided in the OP quite frankly the Mars 'rock' looks like it has been photoshopped into the image.

It is always wise to get the ORIGINAL before making any analysis

In this case, whether it is a rock or a skull or pareidolia... it IS a very interesting image, the way this 'rock' just happens to be propped up like that.  It sure looks like an eloongated skull.  I will add this to the collection

As for as the den of animals, also just rocks. In this case, for the video, pixillation makes for exacerbated appearances of things not actually there, like eyes and mouths that she mentions.

Just like with clouds, one can make "ANYTHING" out of various rocks! Posts like this is what gives real anomaly research results posts such a hard time. This kind of stuff is such easy "game" for the far-over skeptics, and it strengthens their positions for hard flogging of real anomalies!

Yes, IMHO! :)

One thing that has to be mentioned...

when someone with geological expertise looks at 'rocks' there is much they can tell. Now in the above image that 'skull' is in an area that is sand with basalt.

Other areas on Mars, like where the Blueberries are found is sedimentary rock. Sedimentary rock is usually formed under water  from sediments. The blueberries being hematite nodules is further proof of water having been present

So when you look at a field of broken bits of rock  like the image below, anyone that has actively gone on field trips to collect specimens and fossils on earth, would  take one look at this photo and see a dozen pieces right away that are clearly pieces worth picking up

I agree on the den of animals...  simply illusion  Also the scale is small... its not a large cave but a small rock

QuoteJust like with clouds, one can make "ANYTHING" out of various rocks!

Not true... While pareidolia is a real phenomena, you cannot just make ANYTHING out of things  It is either there visually or it is not. If a cloud looks like a dragon, no one will see a bunny rabbit, like THIS famous photo

The QUESTION is... is it just pareidolia, imagination? or did something manifest as a dragon?

I have studied (and collected) such images in clouds, rocks and trees for decades...  ancient people saw spirits in everything too. Some of these images are very clearly looking back at you.

I find it laughable that religious people make claims that God and miracles are real, then yet turn around and scream "pareidolia" when something appears they cannot explain

It's like when someone says God talked to them they are labeled lunatics by the very people who are the strongest (supposedly) believers in god...

SCREW the skeptics  they have a severe case of Prosopagnosia - they see 'only blurry rocks'   :P

Who is to say what is a 'real' anomaly?  Well an ANOMALY is simply "something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected."  A rock shaped like an alien skull is MOST CERTAINLY a real anomaly  while the RAT that Keith Laney shows us is most certainly pareidolia , a trick of light and shadow
