Well man... You know what they say... Better tired than retired  ;)

I already felt the same way, I thought about quitting, but the willing to know is like a splinter in the mind. It may seems it's gone but it's there, just waiting  :)

I can very clearly identify the moment when I officially lost the faith, where UFOlogy is concerned.  It was at the end of Steven Greer's last movie, Sirius.  I believed in Greer for a long time, and that film represented a major emotional betrayal for me.  It was about literally nothing.  I kept fast forwarding it, hoping to find some exciting or significant information.  It never came.

Greer is the type of individual who can easily inspire trust; in terms of his body language, his style of speech, and the seeming nobility of his causes.  When you believe in a person like that, and they betray you, it really hurts.  Although I'm not American, I truthfully had a similar experience with Barrack Obama.  I was naive enough to initially believe that he wasn't simply another ravening psychopath like every other American President has been.

I still believe in a couple of channelled sources of information; most notably Bashar.  I've also seen some of J.L. Naudin's recreations of possible saucer technology, so I am confident that they are not entirely bogus.

For the most part, however, UFOlogy as a scene for me, resembles an old Vaudevillian sideshow.  You have a variety of performers, all of whom are frauds with varying degrees of transparency, but who are also often charismatic and extremely creative writers and orators.  Bill Cooper is probably the quintessential example, here; as is Richard Hoagland.  Pete Peterson also comes to mind.  We are talking about individuals who have managed to profit from a combination of dubious personal morality, and possibly severe mental illness.  They are the sort of people who it can be highly entertaining (even fascinating) to listen to in a 1-2 hour interview, but who you later realise have most likely fed you some enjoyable fiction at best, or deliberate misinformation at worst.

I still think that the UFO meme does contain a very small core kernel of real truth; but it is on the order of 1-2% of the entire body of material that exists.  I am at the point of reflexively dismissing any footage found on YouTube in particular, these days; I've virtually never seen anything uploaded there, which was not explained to me very convincingly later.

I don't think he is a psychopath.  He is a puppet under the influence of a banking and business elite.

As for UFOlogy, as long as the agenda for research is not set by scientific principles, the field will continue to look a mess.  I need to get back on track with a sensible organised database and stick to what I believe in.  There is data worth looking at but it has to be not based on story telling by ex military intelligence, profiteers or attention seekers.  Studies need to be based on a cold hard look at the data.  It is called science!

Compared to many of you members, I have only been at this a few years. where as some of you have been at it over 10 years or more and must have been hit with numerous stories, facts and opinions, and unfortunately may have still come to no clear conclusions. These experiences have been often described to newer members and it may help them eliminate having to spend time researching certain areas or facts..

But no matter where many of us are.. it may be that we have all hit hurdles or brick walls that we cannot get over and we can get burnt out with the many setbacks or disappointments in our desire to have trying to have got to the truths of many of the things that we are on this forum trying to seek...

So I am sure many of us understand how you feel..

and we just hope for those who continue on  that we will get to find out some of the truths or things that we seek...

It can no doubt become a frustrating venture that we endeavour in at times..

We have to appreciate those who have managed to stick with it and  offered their advice, opinions  and guidance to others..
