The distinction between colours could be arbitrary.  Where does the line between colours fall?  What is the difference between indigo, violet and purple?  Where do we draw the line.  Having no word for indigo would make no difference to that particular wavelength of light existing.

Who decides where green ends and blue begins?

True, but it's not as if blue is merely a single shade. Blue is an entire spectrum of color all to its own - and is one of the 3 primary colors we use to color code electronic data. It seems suspect to me that there wouldn't be a single reference to it at all if they could actually see it.

The Egyptians revered the Blue Lotus so I suspect they could identify it based on the blue colour. Otherwise they would have used other lotus flowers by mistake surely?

The blue lotus is hallucinogenic hence the connection with their multidimensional friends the Egyptian Pantheon.

Where can I get some blue lotus?  I'm having a week from hell and I could use some distraction.

What about the bluebells in the Texas hill country?  We're they another color?   Sorry, I'm just really tired today.  Stupid time change.
